This hotel is very well located and that is the only good thing about it. As to the downsides: service is poor and often rude. We booked a parking space 3 days in advance, only to learn, when we arrived at 9 pm, that they had “forgotten”. It was Saturday night, it was raining heavily and there was nowhere to park our car. Result: we got a fine, which the hotel first agreed to pay, and in the end did not. During our stay we changed our travel schedule and asked to stay one extra day, to which the hotel agreed. The must have “forgotten” about this as well, and as a result we had to look for an other hotel the day before leaving. The cleaning staff was also highly inefficient. They kept trying to get in to our rooms, despite the “do not disturb” sign on the door. In one case, I forgot to lock myself in the room, and a cleaning lady entered while I was in the shower.
Our room was very small, with an unpleasant smell, and NO natural light, as the window overlooked an extremely narrow courtyard. It supposedly had a queen-size beds, which was however smaller than ordinary queen beds, and completely broken. The bathroom was barely adequate, certainly not a 4 stars hotel bathroom, extras were very limited and internet access ridiculously expensive: 6 euro an hour, irrespective of whether you used your own pc or the hotel’s computer in the business center.
We would have loved to change hotel after day 1; the reason we did not was that all other hotels in the area were full. No wonder the Cravat was not…...
