Is not an amazing hotel! but location and price are very good! The bar of the Hotel is crap, near you have surfside during the summer for a nice pizza and a nice swim... you also have mint near for fresh food... and you cannot visit sliema without going to ramblers rest Pub! what a pub! nice locals, great decor and great drinks/prices...

“The good and the bad of the Windsor Hotel.”

We were to spend a month in this hotel and were quite happy to do so until 65 students from Russia averaging from 11 to 18 with only three teachers to supervise took over the hotel. We had checked reviews on this hotel after we booked and they were by no means good, with compalints averaging to poor food, unfriendly staff and un clean rooms with dated furniture., but we deciede to give it a go and were pleasently surprised when we arrived to find we had a perfectly adequate room, with nice enough furniture and was very clean. The resturant was very clean and the food was very nice.We had no trouble getting a drink in the bar and we had at least three nights with entertainmant in the lounge. I have an alergy to mushrooms and the chef made sure that my food contained none of these, which I found to be really kind of him., and we spent four happy nights there before the invasion. These students were totally uncontrolled,we could not get a seat in the lounge or the nice reception area and these students were made to have seperate eating times to the residents as they were extreamly noisey and messy leaving the tables in a discusting state, and they ran amock until at least 1.30am.I myself had to go downstairs in my dressing gown to get the night porter to make them quiet down. All this upheavle made all the residents staying there very unhappy, to the point that there was a virtually total walk out, We all relocated to the Plaza Hotel and were made very welcome. I would like to pont out that we travelled with Mercury Direct and their reps did nothing at all to help us telling us that there were no problems at the hotel, which meant that we had to move hotels ourselves with the added cost of over £100.00 to us, but this is a point which we will take up with Mercury. Anyway as far as the actual hotel is concerned check before you book to see if they have any large parties booked in before you book as I would not want any of you to go through what we did.As for the hotel, Well we would say it is an average hotel which has a four star marking but we think should only carry a three star rating.

Room Tip: We had a room on the third floor on the front. Just note that there is a great deal of building work...

“Very nice and friendly hotel, excellent value for money”

This was my 4th stay in this cosy and really friendly hotel. The rooms are very nice, the bathrooms are just what you need in such a climate - all absolutely clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpfull and knowledgeable, and they all go out of their way to assist and help you with whatever you what to know or need. The food - cooked breakfast - is delicious and all you want to have in the morning, and as to dinner - buffet - it offers a wide range of choice: cold starters, soup, pasta dish, 2 meat dishes, 1 fish and a variety of fresh vegetables. The dessert buffet is copious and delicious, too - incl. fresh fruit, heart what do you desire more. Of course, there are 5 star deluxe hotels, too - but do read the hotel description first and refrain from complaining and nagging afterwards, or do you only and exclusively eat from golden plates at home?
I'm definitely coming back and I'm looking forward to staying at this friendly and well-run hotel again. The staff is really doing a great job - compliments also to the management.

just returned from our 3rd stay at the Windsor Hotel. We have always been satisfied with this hotel for what we pay it's good value. Some building work is going on opposite just now, but who cares if you are out all day.We were half board.Breakfast is fine.bacon.sausage eggs scambled [will fry or poach by request] Evening meal is o.k. depending on what you choose.Only problem was there was little atmosphere in the dining room in early December, just 3/4 couples some nights. Reception staff friendly and helpful the dining room staff need cheering up somewhat.Great location and cheap little corner shop opposite.
Overall depending on what you pay its o.k.and if you e mail in advance asking for a good room at the front of the hotel they will try and oblige.

p.s Won't be going back to Malta though now that they have decommisioned the vintage buses.
