Metropole BUDGET HOSTEL is a different establishment at a completely different address.

General Conditions are poor and the hostel is careless.
The bedroom chosen is a lottery, i mean, you can get a room which their conditions are ok or horrible.
My room were positioned back to the bulding and the courtyard were full of air condition out pipes (HOT AIR), one of them was from a pizza restaurant, so the temperature inside the room was absolutly unbearable and smelling pizza the entire time, it was like the hell. In conlucsión, I didn´t slept in 6 days. Moreover, the cleaner came just 1 day in all the week and didn´t clean the floor neither the bathroom, so I don´t know what she did besides made our beds.
The Staff weren´t available in all the week and we have a lot of problems with check out because they told us we could stay in the room until 6 pm but they threw us out at 11 am (7 hours before).
By the way, Hostel is in a excelent location.

I don´t recommended this hostel to anyone. Well, yes, to my worst en3my.

Unfortunately my flight got delayed for a day so the airline decided to give us hotels to stay at (back when i was living in london). The hotel does have a great location, but the hotel wasn't very nice, the food was terrible, the walls were damp and the place had a weird smell, me and my cousin were put in a 4 bed room with an air condition that kept turning on and off and we woke up to the sound of building work, this isn't a luxury hotel, but somethings could have been done better.

in the last 6 years I have visited malta on many occassions always staying in the Metropole I have never experianced all the problemms that your travellers have. In fact I broke my ankle and had to stay 5 months staff were really good to me and apart for this year they have always been so. If you take into consideration that they were all losing their jobs .they were still extremely helpful .and I for one am sorry that the hotel is closing. I wish all the staff the very best and hope they all find work. joanne Edinburgh
