This has been our 9th visit to Malta and the last 7 times our stay has been at this Hotel. We presently wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is perfectly placed in Sliema in a quiet residential area. Comfortable,clean and well furnished. We have always found the staff to be pleasant and very helpful. During our stay one lift was permanently out of action and this would have been our only complaint as we were on the 7th floor. We were informed,however, that both lifts were due to be renewed and would be ready before our next visit..

It was a pleasure to find on our return that the Penny Black Bar has been refurbished and the dining area re-designed to a high standard and still very relaxing to enjoy an after dinner drink.
The bar is well stocked & the bar staff are very professional and obliging,nice atmosphere

Kevin Callus The Hotel Manager leads a team of dedicated staff and the reception headed by Charles Portelli are very efficient and as they say-
You arrive as Guests and leave as Friends.
This is a truthfull account of the Victoria Hotel Sliema.

Travelling as a family (2 adults and 2 small kids (2.5 and 0.5 years old)), we had 8 days in Victoria and Malta in late Jan 2012. We booked half board in Sliema as we felt the location was a good compromise for Valetta, occasional walk along the shore and a few trips around the island with a car. The hotel staff is perfect and always helpful, we got a free upgrade to junior suite and they moved us to a different room when we felt the one we had was too cold. The room was big enough for the 4 of us. We liked the Victorian spirit of the hotel but this just depends on people's preferences. Some of the equipment could be renovated slightly (bathroom, 1 elevator out of order) and the buffet breakfast/dinner were not as rich as those in the 5 star Palace next door but you get what you pay for. All in all-Victoria is a good choice unless you have some special needs (location, beach, huge pool, fine dining etc).

We were given a four day stay as a Christmas present at The Victoria by my daughter,we have stayed before so she knew we would be pleased by her choice. As stated we have been to Malta on several occasions,using The Intercontinental,The Victoria and years ago The Crowne Plaza at Tigne Point.
The Victoria of all these Hotels is the one we like to back to and this is because of the friendleness of the Staff.The Hotel is warm and welcoming and at no stage do you ever feel like they want to rip you of as unfortunately far to many do.there is an expression which i would apply to the Hotel and this is (a relic of old decency).
Mr portelli is still there and no nicer gentleman you could meet as are all his front desk.
Finally as we had never been in Malta in January we were delighted with climate 14 degrees and sunny,we will be back soon.
