This hotel is stuck in a time-warp back in the 1980's. Where do I begin?
On a positive note, I agree with the other reviewers regarding the helpfulness of the staff and great location.
Considering this hotel was at a minimum capacity we were completely shocked at the standard of cleanliness. On arrival we had been assigned a side room 611 - the poor quality of furnishings is a understatement! Dirty mouldy shower and bath, rusty sinks, loose sockets on the wall, flashing fluorescent light bulb, no curtains and a welcoming cockroach.
We quickly returned to reception requesting another room, to our dismay the other rooms offered were worse. Housekeeping offered to clean the room and add curtains to the windows and fix the broken items.
The TV was an old CRT portable with very bad reception and had to be reprogrammed by the maintenance department who basically said that we only had 1 English channel and fuzzy reception was normal although in the main lobby and bar they had perfect reception and more channels.
The Internet connection had a very poor connection and was intermittent, so be prepared to pay for the 'cloud' connection.
The electrical sockets were left unfixed.
The breakfast was the only food we ate here but quality wise was less than standard. Some of the food (eggs, bacon) was out on the buffet from 7 -10am uncovered.
As it was our first visit to Malta we didn't want our displeasure in our accommodation ruin our holiday so the next day we decided to write to the CEO of the hotel chain expecting an apology. We received an acknowledgement of receipt of our email but to our disappointment no response to our concerns.
I hope he takes notes of the comments on TA and makes the changes before someone becomes seriously ill.
Room Tip: Stay away from Room 611 - In fact the whole of 6th floor needs refurbishment
