“Affordable with good location”

The hotel is situated in sliema overlooking the mediterranean sea. It is a little old but is considerably cheap if that is what you are looking for.. it is not far from valetta where most of the attractions are. You can get to valetta using the luzzu or traditional boat as well as the bus which would take around half an hour. The hotel is not very far from Hard Rock Cafe and The Point - Malta's biggest shopping mall and there are choices of eateries and bars around the hotel. I'm not too happy with the food as it serves the same boring breakfast every day for the 8 days i was there but all in all location-wise is good as it is also nearby other shopping outlets such as Zara, Next etc. It could improve on its amenities though.

“Excellent value”

Had a fantastic time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks to Ian and Tiziana for the lovely food. 6 course meal on christmas eve and again on new years eve both excellent. Plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner. Decor was a little tired but rooms were comfortable and the housekeeping was excellent. Some of the rooms are now being updated. This did not affect us at all. My partner and I stayed here for three weeks over christmas and the new year and found it excellent value for money. We definitely will be going back

“A Dirty Poor 2 Star Accommodation - BEWARE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

This hotel is stuck in a time-warp back in the 1980's. Where do I begin?

On a positive note, I agree with the other reviewers regarding the helpfulness of the staff and great location.

Considering this hotel was at a minimum capacity we were completely shocked at the standard of cleanliness. On arrival we had been assigned a side room 611 - the poor quality of furnishings is a understatement! Dirty mouldy shower and bath, rusty sinks, loose sockets on the wall, flashing fluorescent light bulb, no curtains and a welcoming cockroach.
We quickly returned to reception requesting another room, to our dismay the other rooms offered were worse. Housekeeping offered to clean the room and add curtains to the windows and fix the broken items.

The TV was an old CRT portable with very bad reception and had to be reprogrammed by the maintenance department who basically said that we only had 1 English channel and fuzzy reception was normal although in the main lobby and bar they had perfect reception and more channels.

The Internet connection had a very poor connection and was intermittent, so be prepared to pay for the 'cloud' connection.

The electrical sockets were left unfixed.

The breakfast was the only food we ate here but quality wise was less than standard. Some of the food (eggs, bacon) was out on the buffet from 7 -10am uncovered.

As it was our first visit to Malta we didn't want our displeasure in our accommodation ruin our holiday so the next day we decided to write to the CEO of the hotel chain expecting an apology. We received an acknowledgement of receipt of our email but to our disappointment no response to our concerns.
I hope he takes notes of the comments on TA and makes the changes before someone becomes seriously ill.

Room Tip: Stay away from Room 611 - In fact the whole of 6th floor needs refurbishment

“Would not go back. Dirty and poor service”

A friend of mine booked this spot by accident. Was awful. The room was dirty with no amenities and the service was dreadful. The real shame is that there are tons of great hotels in the area at the same price.

“Friendly and excellent value”

Spent three week winter holiday here found the room to be well furnished with good solid bed which has been a problem in other Malta hotels.
OK decor was a little tired, as this is a busy hotel year round, but housekeeping was first rate.
Service throughout the hotel was excellent and very friendly.
I am not a fan of buffet meals but breakfast was really excellent with both continental items and full English.
Dinner was exceptionl value for the cost of the holiday and the kitchen staff made every effort to give variety and choice on what must be a very tight budget.

Room Tip: side rooms are quieter especially 3rd floor upwards I would not bother with seaview as view is over...
