We spent 4 nights in Reykjavik. Staying in this hotel makes total sense because of the location. You have everything within walking distance and if you're looking for a restaurant, there is plenty of them.
1919 is supposed to be a 100% smoke free hotel. Unfortunately some people dose not respect this and we had to change room because of this. Our room was stinking of smoke. After letting the staff know, it took less then 10 minutes to have another room. We had a standard room of good standard but unfortunately there was a lot of mould in the shower. Totally unnecessary, just a matter of how you clean. A good advice to the hotel is to add a couple of hangers for winter coats and wet clothing.
Breakfast is good and the attention you get from the staff is excellent.
Overall a good experience but in a 4 star hotel there you shouldn't see or find rooms with smoke or mould. This should have been found on forehand and been taken care of.

I stayed here in late January and I would definitely recommend this hotel. Most important reason for staying here is location. It is right next to the bank so you can easily exchange US dollars for local currency (there is no fee). Additionally there are numerous places to eat and bars/clubs to go to at night that are all within walking distance. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and honestly you will not be spending that much in the room anyway. The food at the hotel is expensive so I would recommend eating at one of the nearby restaurants. The front desk can also make reservations for you at restaurants so you do not have to waste your money calling to do it yourself.

We have just returned from a trip to iceland where we stayed at the Radisson Blu hotel, our room was lovely and we had a partial view of the harbour. We had read reviews from others on here saying that they found it noisy but we found it incredibly quiet. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. This hotel is very well situated for sightseeing especially if you are using Greyline tours as they are just round the corner from the hotel and i would recommend them as they were fabulous and their staff very helpful.
Unfortunately we did't see the northern lights as the weather was too bad and we lost 2 nights, we did manage to go on the 3rd night and we saw the beginnings of them but they didn't amount to anything as some snow clouds came over. However we'll try again later in the year my husband has already booked this hotel again for our return visit.

Myself and my partner stayed in the Radisson on a 5 day trip to Rekjavik. This hotel Is such an amazing location, 5 minutes walk to everything! Surrounded by amazing places to eat. I reccommend a place called 'iceladic fish and chips' and also '73' The Blue Lagoon is a must do aswell.
The staff are so helpful at the Radisson and give fantastic advice and directions. There is a gym in the hotel which is really nice and always had fresg towels in there and bottles if water. The food was outstanding and always fresh and hot. Cannot wait to go back to this hotel!
