“Room 202 was great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

My husband and I had read the reviews of the AdaM on TripAdvisor and were very worried since it is the hotel that came with the package my travel agent provided. We were pleasantly surprised-the room was very clean and there was a computer with Internet access. We had a small sink, dishes, glasses, refrigerator/freezer and microwave. The only strange thing was that the microwave was 8' off the ground. We had to stand on a chair to reach it.
The shower was wonderful, hot and rarely smelled of sulphur. The owner was in the midst of renovating, but this did not interfere with our stay. The owner and manager were more than helpful with whatever we needed. All in all, I would stay in room 202 again. The location of the hotel was superb.

Room Tip: Info is about Room 202 only.

“shabby rooms, poor service but great location”

we stayed in this hotel for one night, which was the absolute max amount of time we were prepared to stay there. the rooms are pathetically small and the toilets feature a sink that is either completely in your way so that you can't properly sit on the loo, or tucked in behind the shower screen so that you can't use it at all. plus there was an eerie smell coming from the pipes, which made staying in the room rather unpleasant. only just good enough for one night. we were sort of relieved that breakfast wasn't included in the horrendous price for this rabbit warren. the location is surperb, though.

“do not recommend”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

I would not recommend this as a place to stay in Reykjavik. The only good thing about the stay was the location. It was well located to visit the downtown area. The rooms were very plain, the shower water pooled in front of the sink in the bathroom, and the help was just reluctantly helpful. We asked if someone could call a cab for a trip to the airport, and he finally handed us his phone. (our cel phones did not work in Iceland). Basically, it was not much for what you paid.

“DON'T DO IT!!!”

I don't have much to say except this place has literally stolen my money... I had a reservation but wasn't 100% sure I'd be able to keep it. Just incase i bought the cancellation insurance. Then when I decided to cancel I did so with more than 24 hours advance but they had already charged my card. The reservations clearly states they will not charge it until the arrival time of the reservation. After a few emails providing them with ample documentation that the charge was in error and they had to refund me the money, the started ignoring me and I havent heard back since. These people are not professional and cannot be trusted. Read the other bad reviews; I know where they are coming from when they say the owner is rude. TERRIBLE PLACE! DON'T STAY HERE!!!

“False pictures and information”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2011

In the information of AdaM hotel is said there are private bathrooms, but in fact I had to share mine with the neighbor. The room was very simple and modest, maybe suitable for a budget traveler. The room had nothing common with the pictures of the hotel's website. Everything was like a nightmare, wet and cold hotel room, dirty shared bathroom.

Perhaps suitable under summer time for budget travelers, but during this time of year I really don't recommend that. And D O N O T believe in the pictures of the website!

Room Tip: In the centre, cheap, false
