If you are arriving in Iceland from North America your flight probably gets in around 6am, and if you are arriving in the winter the sun won't come up until after 11am. The apartments offered a guaranteed early check in at 50% of the full room rate. If, like me, you are happy to pay additional to guarantee yourself a place to crash for a few hours when you arrive in the early hours of a long dark morning before going out and exploring the city, this is a real selling point, as mentioned above particularly in the winter when it's dark for a long time.
The apartments are located very centrally in the main street and the room was also a very good size and the bed extremely comfortable and warm. There is also a small kitchen area and fridge.
