Booked a deluxe room here for a long weekend, the deluxe bit seemed to consist of a soft seating area in a conservatory, within the room but behind a curtain, which was a bit bizarre but nice nonetheless!
The rest of the room was excellent, decent bed and lovely bathroom. We got two free nights booking via Expedia so the hotel was excellent value!
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, limited range on offer but they were upgrading their restaurant at the time so we were moved to a small room in the basement - I assume once the restaurant is opened again they will have more room for a bit more choice!
Reception were VERY helpful with everything, from booking trips for us to general directions. It is also manned 24 hrs so there is always someone there to help you.
All in all, a great hotel at a great price, and very central to Reykjavik too!

I stayed at Hotel Odinsve in September 2011 and would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers. Our room was pleasantly decorated, comfortable and very clean. The bed was particularly comfortable -- I only wish we had more time to sleep in it! We were in a junior suite which was spacious and had a nice seating area. The views from our room were fantastic. The hotel was in a great central location. Close to everything but still on a quiet street. As other reviewers have mentioned, the coffee shop across the street was great. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that some of the common areas could use some updating. I thought the breakfast buffet was just OK.

Lovely hotel, great location, nice food, nice clean bedroom, nice clean hotel, nice staff, we arrived at 3.30 in the morning (after a 11 hour flight delay) and night porter knew we where arriving and was well organised. It was our 60th birthday on our holiday and the hotel gave us a box of chocolates and a note wishing us happy birthday (that was nice).

We stayed at the Odinsve last weekend for a three night break. I booked with On Hotels at a great rate of £40 per night including buffet breakfast for a double room.

We arrived at 10.00 p.m. having first been to the Blue Lagoon (really great) and had a quick and easy check in - I had emailed earlier in the week to say we would be late, and was assured it wouldn't be a problem - the reception is open 24/7. Our room was on the second floor and to be honest I was quite anxious that the room would not be great for the amount we had paid - I was very wrong. The room was large, warm, clean and spacious. I think larger, more expensive rooms are available on higher floors with better views, but this was fine for our short stay - we didn't intend being in the room for that long. The bed was huge (I would say Super King) and very comfy - you just fell into it, and the bedding was excellent quality. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly adequate and very clean. There was a view of the church at the top of the hill which was lit up at night. It was really quiet and I slept really well - quite rare for me whilst on holiday. There were also tea making facilities in the room and supplies were replenished daily.

The breakfast was typical European buffet style and more than adequate.

Reception staff were really helpful and booked our trips and shuttle bus to the airport.

Overall an excellent value hotel in a good location - would recommend to anyone. I have paid a lot more worldwide for less inferior hotels costing more money.
