“Great service, great price”

I went for a 4 night trip to Iceland and stayed at the Park Inn. I was lucky and got a north facing room on the 6th floor, which meant I had stunning views of the mountains.

The breakfast buffet had a reasonable selection of breads, cheese, fruit and bacon. The processed scrambled eggs were pretty awful though.

The staff were always very helpful, booking us taxis, giving us directions and so on.

The hotel has free wi-fi broadband.

Room Tip: Get a north facing room high up for the best views.

“Longweeked in Iceland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Went on a 5 day tour of Iceland stayed at the park inn, The room was huge with a kitchenette big bathroom sittingroom area plus bedroom area, It was very clean and the breakfast was very good alot of choice, The staff were very helpful gave me a map and explained where we were and how to get to the city. There were quite a few restaurant near by which I used, there were no evening meals available at the hotel. It was quite a walk to the city which I did a couple of times but I enjoy walking (I felt save I am a woman traveling on my own) You could catch a bus at the top of the road or get a taxi. I really enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: I was on a high floor no noise. (7)

“Splendid hotel”

I had never stayed at the Park Inn before, but I knew it was adjacent to a disco, so immediately after I booked through the Internet I sent an e-mail requesting a quiet room. That is what I got - and more. I got this absolutely amazing room on the 7th (top) floor with a stunning view of the city. The room was very spacious and even had a small kitchenette! Needless to say, I was delighted! Nothing to complain about there, except that I would perhaps have liked a better selection of TV channels. Check-in was speedy and friendly, so was the check-out process. I took the bus from Reykjavik Domestic Airport; the stop is about a 4-5 minute walk from the hotel, which was OK since I had very little luggage. Getting to and from the city centre, the domestic airport and the national bus/coach station is no problem. Breakfast was excellent, the selection was fine and the quality was good. I would not hesitate to stay at the Park Inn again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

“Adequate hotel away from the centre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Stopped at this hotel for 3 nights as part of a tour of Iceland so did not choose it myself - therefore cannot comment on value for money. However, my impression is that hotels in Iceland do not offer a comparable level of VFM to the US and UK. The room was very basic - tv with limited channels, no tea-making facilities poor wi-fi reception () and a restricted view of the waterfront. The breakfast was good and set us up for a full days sightseeing.

“Nice, but too far from centre”

Very nice and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Restaurant and breakfast were very good. Unfortunately it is too far away from the city centre - you either have to take a taxi (expensive) or walk up to the main road and wait for the bus to the centre.
