This is one of those reviews where I think the only way to do it justice is to look at the pros and cons in turn. (I should also mention, before I start, that we had apartment 64, which is one of the cheaper double options). So that out of the way, here goes...
Pros - it is well located close to the centre of Reykjavik (both the shopping/restaurant/cafe area and the harbour) and in a nice area, it has basic cooking facilities (although not an oven), the cleaners wash up your pots and pans for you, and the radiators were good and massivley appreciated after days out in the cold/wet.
Cons - it is very basic (and certainly not anywhere close to the titular "luxury"), the double bed is actually a pull out leather sofa which isn't particularly comfortable (to the point we couldn't both sleep on it), the decor is dated and the bathroom (shower in particular) shows sign of mould.
Overall I wasn't particularly impressed and was surprised it gets such a high rating on TripAdvisor. Don't get me wrong, it's fine and the location is very good, just don't go expecting luxury, otherwise you'll be sorely disappointed.
