“Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This is a little gem in the city center of Reykjavik. For less than a traditional hotel room, we rented a one bedroom, studio apartment that was fully furnished. The location is just blocks away from the city center and around the corner from a shopping mart. Note: there is not a front desk to check in at. You are remotely entered into the location and an envelope is waiting with instructions and keys. Also note: that if you have a second story apartment, that there is not an elevator. In other words, if you are an independent traveler who likes a quiet, inexpensive, and convenient place to lay your head, this is perfect.

“Nice flat, good location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Stayed for 3 nights in Apt 80 (the smallest). Great location, residential area but close to the city centre. One buzz and we’re let in with the keys on the cupboard. Apt 80 is a studio flat (ie. bedroom with living room together) with a separate shower/toilet and a kitchen. Clean and Tidy, well equipped – even provided with salt & pepper, tea bags, sugars etc. Got extra pillows stored in the room. Big windows looking out with nice view. Cleaned everyday and even help us put our dishes into the dishwasher. Wifi worked well. A bit pricy but everything seems expensive in Iceland anyway and having a flat for the stay is much better than a hotel!

“Could not have loved our stay more!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

First of all, I'm so glad you are considering visiting Iceland. You are going to LOVE IT. And, since you've stopped by here, you are also researching the Embassy Apartments, and if apartment living is your style, you should just book it and not think twice!

We stayed 5 nights in apartment 138 over New Years. There were four adults and a 10 month old. Our email communication with Ingibergur was prompt and helpful, and the price of the apartment was completely reasonable! They provided us with a crib and high chair, and the apartment was cleaned every day except the holiday (which we were told, and were completely fine with as they left extra towels).

Check-in was very straight forward. We emailed the day before and was told that we could check in early as the apartment was vacant (this was a huge blessing, as we were tired travelers!). Simply buzz the intercom and you are let in to find your keys in the small foyer.

The location is PERFECT. It's super close to all of the restaurants and shops in the center of town, but it's on a quiet side street just far away from the melee. Street parking is relatively easy. Our apartment was huge, with many couches, a large dining room table, one regular size bedroom and one large bedroom. The kitchen was small but nicely stocked with everything we needed, and the bathroom was just big enough, with a shower (no bathtub). The beds were a bit soft, but we were so tired, quite frankly we didn't care!

The internet was free and reliable, the TV had english stations, and the only suggestion I have for improvement is more waste bins. I would not hesitate to recommend the Embassy Apartments to anyone!

Room Tip: Every apartment seems to have its own character - 138 was wonderful!

“Wouldn't stay anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We recently returned from a weeks stay at the Embassy Apartments. I cannot recommend them enough. The locations is in the centre of Reykjavik surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops, but on a quiet street. The apartment (110) had everything you could ask for and was much better than a hotel room as you could spread out and allow clothes to dry etc. The apartments were modern and it really made our holiday.

Room Tip: Room 110 was great Hire a car and drive down the the southwest. Fabulous scenery and geothermals...

“Excellent Apartment & Fantastic Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Located on a quiet street yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of Reykjavik, these serviced apartments are perfect for a weekend or week long break. Our very generously spaced apartment (No. 100) was located on the first floor and had all mod cons including a dishwasher in the fully fitted kitchen and a very sweet little balcony. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again.

Our only gripe would be that the curtains were very thin and consequently with light coming into the bedroom very early in the morning, there wasn't really an opportunity for a lie-in.

Room Tip: Go for apartment 100.
