“Best hotel in the North of Iceland - doesn't mean it's great though”

I used to work in this hotel. The best hotel in the North of Iceland. Right downtown, about 5 min drive from the airport. Restaurants, bars, clubs, museums within a short walking distance. Request sea view room, amazing sights of the opposite mountain and Eyjafjordur (the fjord/sea). Beds are big and very comfy, rooms are rather on the smaller size and the bathroom could do with an update. Hotel bar on site and restaurant is especially lovely. One thing I can say that it's a very clean hotel. Excellent for NORTHEN LIGHT sights, beautiful!! Very expensive though.

Room Tip: Book the sea view rooms.

Hotel was ok. No fuss. Clean. In the center of a small town (although Akureyri is large for Iceland :)

The rooms were very well appointed, but on the small side. Excellent location in the town close to some very good restaurants. The staff were very friendly and the hotel offered a good breakfast. The best hotel I stayed in on our 10 day tour of Iceland so highly recommended!

Avery good standard hotel in town centre. Nice, clean modern rooms, very professional and friendly reception.
Good breakfast but horrible early take away one. You come to Iceland to explore and many would like to leave before breakfast is served. I was disappointed to receive a banana and yoghurt as my take away breakfast. I was expecting a bit better from a hotel which claim to be the best in town...

right in the heart of town Akureyri Staff is nice and helpfull dont eat on the hotel resturang you have the resturang Bautinn outside the hotel much better great breakfast buffet nice rooms
