The hotel is very old, built in 1970s. The building looks like it is going to collapse any day, really. The hotel has also a hostel (Vaasa Hostel), which is cheaper, but the rooms are not refurbished after 1970s, the Hostel rooms smell very badly for smoking. Most of the Hotel Fenno rooms are refurbished, but the whole enterior is so terrible that I would recommend anyone to stay in the city center hotels (Best Western, Omenahotelli (very good value for money 55€/day), Hotelli Vaakuna etc.) which are equally priced or even cheaper than Hotel Fenno, but better located and cleaner.
I am a shamed that in Finland such a hotel exists.
