Went on a short one-night holiday with the family, with two kids under school age. The hotel is located just next to the Turku-Helsinki highway, which is convenient if you travel by car. There's plenty of parking space outside, though it'll cost you 4-8 euros per day. If you don't come by car, there are bus stops for local public transportation buses located a couple of minutes away, so no problem.
The hotel itself is quite dated. It's clean and quiet, but really doesn't offer anything at all that would surprise either positively or negatively; it really is the definition of neutral. The standard room we had didn't have any extra square metres. With two adult-sized beds that we moved together, a smaller fold bed for our older child, plus a mattress for the younger - well, the room was filled. The room also had a toilet with bathtub, and a flat-screen tv with some national tv channels. It was very clean, but like the hotel as a whole, a bit worn and torn. The view from the window was quite boring, mostly walls of the hotel and the roof of the spa located in the same building.
The spa itself is great for kids especially. There are several pools, both shallow and deep, with or without bubbles and waterfalls etc. There is even an outdoor pool, which was great to lay in since it was December - nice to feel the chilly air with your head whilst being perfectly warm and nice due to the warm water. There are also a few sauna options, of which I preferred the turkish steam sauna which has a nice gentle eucalyptus scent in the air.
The worst thing about this hotel and spa complex is the food. The breakfast itself was ok, plentiful and fresh enough, though a bit heavily leaned on the sweet side, probably due to the amount of families with kids that come here. But the lunch/dinner options are, to be frank, crap. I know that this is a hotel review instead of a restaurant review, but since they're located in the same building, here goes. There is a "Hesburger" hamburger joint located in connection to the spa, so you have sweaty and wet people drinking beer from plastic pints while chewing on greasy burgers 5 metres from the pools. Not that tasty. The other options are the duo of Havanna Restaurant and Pizzeria Papa Angelo, both located in the basement floor, just like the spa itself. We came down for dinner, took a table, waited for 15 minutes, and no one even took any notice of us, though we tried to contact and wave politely. They seemed to be severely undermanned, but after a day in the spa, all families including ours were probably quite beat and very hungry - never mess with blood sugar levels, especially kids'. What you DON'T want at that point is ignorance and long waiting times, which is exactly what we got. We had a good look at the menu, and it offered no surprises, and was heavy on the fast-food kind of food. But after waiting so long, we got up and left. I certainly won't be going back there ever. In stead we went into town for a nice dinner. I urge everyone to stay away from this place. I don't mean this as an anti-campaign just for the sake of it, but the menu, atmosphere and service of these restaurants just isn't up to date.
