“Comfortable beds, nice staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

I stayed at the Sokos Hotel Seurahuone for one night. Booked the room via the Sokos Hotels' website, and got a price of 65 euros (including breakfast).

As others have pointed out, the hotel is located in the city centre, and is within walking distance from the train station.

The hotel could benefit from a slight renovation, but is not too worn down. The room was clean, beds comfortable and came with two different pillows -- one small and firm, and one large and soft.

Breakfast was good, included eggs, sausages, bread, yogurt, fruit etc.

The staff was very friendly and seemed to be multi-lingual.

I would stay at the hotel again.

“A comfortable hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

A comfortable hotel, even though the decor was a bit old and the bathroom was not that great even though it was clean. The street outside was a bit noisy during the weekend nights. Breakfast was good.

“nice and comfortable, reasonable price, child friendly, worn out furniture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

We stayed here in June 2010. We were staying at the Omena Hotel with my boyfriend for a night and decided to change as we noticed through their website, that the "high season" price was almost the same (Omenahotel doesn't have a parking, and parking in the streets and car parks is expensive). Also we wanted to have a room with windows that could be opened. I got a reduction with S- card, don't know how much, but we paid 86e per night for a double non-smoking standard room.
Parking wasn't free but in a car park nearby at a special price (9€ / 24 hours).
The car park was almost full but we found a place.
Room was very nice, especially the bed, but the furniture was worn out and looked like even clean it would look a bit dirty and old, like the doors, the walls in the entrance or the sides of the bed. The room was big compared to rooms in central europe. I asked for a double bed with a bath and they gave us what I asked for. The room was comfortable, windows could be opened, there was a safe box, a fridge, hair drier, fast wifi connection and all. There was also a bed for a baby... The hotel looked actually very child friendly with a game room, microwave in their restaurant, children running around, a swimming pool in their other hotel nearby to be used for free etc. During the evening there was noise from the room above with excited children screaming but not anymore after midnight.
At the reception desk, the staff was happy to use their language skills and during the breakfast the waitresses were very friendly and smiling kindly.
I would recommend this hotel especially for people with kids and also, I think it was a good value for money. Not a design or classy hotel, but warm, nice and comfortable at a reasonable price.

“OK but lots of noise at Saturday evening”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

We stayed one night with our daughter, room OK, clean, but seen it's best days, TV was old, bath room clean but a bit worn out. Room was a good size and there was plenty of space for extra bed.
The problem was that we had a room facing the main street and windows in this building are quite thin, so there was a lot of noise from the street: cars, busses, and during the night, people leaving the bars around the hotel. All the sounds came through very clearly, obviously this old building needs new windows.
Breakfast was fine, good selection.
Localtion is very good, right next to central market square. But as said, a restless area in weekends.

“Clean, Quiet, Centrally located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2009

I stayed here for a few days in May for a business trip. The rooms are small (although bigger than some rooms I've stayed in in Europe), but clean and full of light. My room was next to the stairwell and I was a little worried about noise, but it was absolutely quiet the entire time. There is free wifi in the rooms, and my signal was excellent. The breakfast that's included is very good- a buffet of yogurt, breads, cold cuts, cereal, eggs, meats, etc. I ate at the restaurant one night and wasn't crazy about it, but there are so many restaurants within walking distance that it didn't become an issue. The hotel is really close to the center of town, and also easy walking distance to the river walk.
