It is really what you do expect - pretty basic but clean and moderate priced hotel, no restaurant on premises, so no diner or breakfast options. But it is located on the main street just outside entrance one can find plenty of various restaurants or pubs on evening for dinner or just hang out and enough early opening cafeterias for reasonable breakfast. Taxi can easily catched by railway station - just maybe 50 meters away. And best feature for those who hate long lines on check-in and check-out - here you will literally spend no minute as to get into your room - just make sure you do remember your room number and code you will get via sms.
Btw - for thoe whom it is important (like me) - you can open a window during a night. In winter in Finland that can be maybe not really needed but otherwise - good to have some fresh air inside.

I stayed in Tampere I in the beginning of November 2011 for 4 nights in room 315.
I have head good reviews about other hotels of this network before, that is why I decided to stay in Omena in Tampere.
Common impression - good. The only man we saw from hotel staff was guard - he looked like very responsible person. There are a microwave oven and cattle in the room, also - free fast wi-fi and air conditioning.
Location is good.
However, there are some disadvantages.
1. There were no any dishes for microwave oven.
2. Fridge has a broken door.
3. The door to bathroom was broken also. It was dangerous to close door - in case you close it, it was impossible to open it from bathroom side.
4. One button in toilet water supply was broken.
5. Bottle for liquid soap - broken.
6. Shower was not comfortable - as far as one person take a shower, the floor in bathroom becomes completely wet.
7. The room was more or less clean, but there are a lot of dust behind wardrobe, with fallen things, kept from previous guests - so you understand that nobody (and never) from hotel staff looks in this place
8. It was not allowed to open windows.

When I was first told about the place, I was told it was basic and cheap, when I came to book (only two weeks in advance) the rooms were abour EUR50/night each, so I suppose this is reasonably cheap.

The hotel is completely unattended, you are sent a door code via SMS which you must enter at every point (front door, inner doors, your door etc..) , there is free cabled internet and this too requires you to enter the code.

I had to take the lift to my floor, the lift had no door (as in , as it was rising, I could see the floors moving in front of me), this was a new experience for me.

The room was basic and clean, but included a large colour television and kitchenette with a bench, a fridge and a microwave, there was a double bed and a sofa bed, the room comfortably slept four and allowed them to sit and have a meal together, whilst watching the television.

The room was reasonably quiet, but somewhat warm, I couldn't open the window and there appeared to be no air conditioning.

When the time came to leave, I simply left a provided cardboard sign on my door and walked out.

I would recommend and would return.
