Mango Hotel in Tampere is a charming and nice hotel but a little out of the way. You will need a car to get here and to get into town. It is not near the train station. The hotel is located in an industrial auto body shop area. I think the City's garbage yard is nearby as well because in the morning there were about 30 trash trucks driving by. There are only a couple choices for dinner nearby -- the ever present Pizza-Kebob and an Irish Pub. The owner is incredibly nice and accommodating. He helped us with everything we needed. He gave us the nicest room he had which was top floor on the corner and had a private balcony. The room decoration was beautiful and ornate. Bathroom is very small but clean. Breakfast was delicious and generous. We recommend this hotel if the out of way location and noise doesn't bother you.

Stayed here for two nights in November 2008. I have to say that I was truly surprised. This place was definetly beyond my expectations. Ofcourse its on the budget site, but very clean, nice decor and quiet location.

And the staff was very helpful, huge thanks for that.

I have found info about this hotel on the Tampere tourist web-site, and from the very start it seemed to be just what Iwas searching for: acceptable price, self-service, location (not far from the city-centre, abt. 10-15 minutes).

The personnel was very friendly, i.e. our door-code (that functions as the key to all hotel doors) was activated two hours before it had been supposed to (I called the hotel customer service with some additional question when we were on our way, and they informed us that there was no need to wait until official check-in time, i.e. they could activate our code by the time of our arrival).

This is not the only self-service hotel in the area , but it has the own car-parking place and serves breakfast, which made us decide to stay there.

The only thing that I would add to every room would be a small electric tea-pot and maybe a microwave oven, as well as disposable spoons, forks, knives.

I liked this place a lot and I suppose that my first stay was nto the last one.

3 friends and I booked here and got 2 twin rooms. The hotel was budget but excellent value and extremely comfortable. We got the impression that the hotel was quite new as the decor and furnishings were in good condition for a budget hotel. Although a little out of the centre we found the local taxis were the best we had ever used and arrived fast and were very reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it. I hope fellow visitors look after it!!
