“Stylish and very comfortable hotel - just like home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Villa was recently renovated and it can be seen everywhere. Decoration is very stylish, minimalistic, scandinavian style. When you step into your room, your first impression is not that you are stepping into a hotel room. I felt like stepping into a home. Room has only 3 colours: white, dark grey and light wooden floors. Also bathroom is only grey and white. Very simple and stylish. Bed is comfortable and sleeping quality is good. Hotel is very quiet. I will definetly stay here again every time I need to stay over night in Tampere.

“A very nice place to just be me!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Very central location... once I had figured the strange 'orientation' of the city on the tourist map! Maybe I was having an off day, I normally suss a city map out pretty quickly but time and again I had to double check my position. What with the cold and my advanced years I had some fun walking not always in the right direction!! Back to the hotel. Very fashionably and discretly re-furbished; grey, white and minimal Scandanavian design features all of which work perfectly. Lovely twin bed room on 6th floor. Warm, airy and with tiny windows that afforded in any case only a view of the railway tracks out of Tampere! All covered in a layer of snow. Quite, very quite. Nice reception area downstairs that had a coffee bar and snack facility 24/7 with main desk receptionist acting as host & bartender. Informal & relaxed, internet and easy chairs, table and more upright seating for a party of you.... I would go here to read a book and felt unharassed and comfortable. Breakfast good & unfussy.
All in all a very pleasant place to stay in when on business, when away with your partner or on your own as I was, and looking for no more than an interesting experience of a city not previously known to me and for the adventures that may therin lie. And, adventure on foot there certainly is... you CAN walk everywhere. If you can walk, and the views from the only high terrain up on the ridge are beautiful and memorable!

Room Tip: Overlooking the railway tracks did NOT mean noise! And, it offerd a more 'open' view of the...

“Not a luxury hotel but a luxury home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Hotels are usually too clinical or too luxury. This one feels like a really beautiful clean simple home and I could easily stay here longer.

“Family room with a slightly different interior”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Room 676 (family room) was big enough for four. This building is an old warehouse (i think) and the room has very large concrete beams in the ceiling. The ceiling is sloping (this is top floor or attic) and the room is kind of triangular. All walls are white, good lights, nice shower.

Recently renovated, clean and classy. Good sauna. Right in the middle of Tampere.

Just one thing - this room has only two very small windows quite high up, so no views. Well, the ´hood is a bit boring looking anyway.

Room/suite 682 was being cleaned when I walked by and was allowed to have a look inside. A 2-floor apartment with sauna, very nice!

Hotel Villa is small but the interior designer has certainly done a good job.

Room Tip: For a family get a family room (they only have two)

“Nice place, but families might reconcider”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We loved our stay at Villa in january 2012. However, I am pretty sure that we will chose a different hotel when travelling with two kids (3 and 0). Not that the hotel was in any way bad for kids, its just that it caters to a different crowd (business, couples).

Beautiful rooms, friendly service and a laid back atmosphere where all there. Accessibility with two kiddie-trollies was troubling, be sure to park on the upper level if travelling with kids. If in winter you choose to park downstairs, you cans access the hotel via the ajoyning mall as well.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view over the gym are not a good idea if you want to sleep in. The bodybuilders start e...
