We asked local friend where to stay in Pori, they all said Sokos Hotel Vaakuna. We had no pre booking, but what I've heard there is only couple of weekends in year when hotels are all fully booked. Reception service was better than average, she also gave us tooth brush and things like that to survive in the morning.

Hotel was clean, little bit out dated but still, clean. I don't know about the location, don't know the city of Pori. But usually Sokos Hotels are located in central.

But breakfast! It's like 4-5 star breakfast in central Europe. Best I've had in Finland.

This hotel is part of the Sokos Hotels chain, so you get what you expect but nothing more. Vaakuna is well located, right in the city centre and it is easy to get everywhere by walking. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was a positice surprise, nice selection. To sum it up, a good, clean and centrally located hotel, but not the cheapest in the town.

Stayed at Sokos Hotel for two nights and was very pleased. Comfortable room, excellent selection at breakfast. Very nice in every respect. Front desk very helpful. This is a lovely "small" town of about 75,000.
Doesn't look like would be the nicest hotel judging from the rather old look of the outside of the building....but don't be fooled...this is really a lovely hotel. Exellent internet connection in rooms.

Simple but clean rooms. Centrally located in Pori, near to restaurants and main station. Good breakfast buffet with a wide variety of food. According to the locals, the best hotel in town. Has a mexican style restaurant - bar. The bath room was small and already a bit old-fashioned, but also clean. Staff has been very friendly.
