We stayed one night with other couple. Selected because was available and located in center. Hotel is not oldish, but clean and good location. Value for price is good. Friendly staff and good breakfast.

The hotel is an ugly concrete building and the interiors are worn. The choice of tv channels is very limited, only few (if any) foreign channels. The restaurant was seriously understaffed - it took over an hour to get the meal after ordering. The room was simple and spiritless, though clean. Breakfast buffet was ok. The free parking space for customers in the inner courtyard was very limited. And the worst thing: The room was really hot! Sure, it was almost 30 degrees outside, but I think it was at least the same in the room! In the morning, when it was only 20 degrees outside, it was still unbelievably hot inside even though a small window (the only one you was able to open a bit) was open the whole night (so you heard when the local pubs closed their doors...).

I don't say this hotel is miserable, but it's not fascinating by any measure either. An ordinary, a bit worn chain hotel. The staff was friendly and I don't know if you have any better options here in the city center... But if I go to Pori again, I'll give a try to something else...

We stayed one night at this hotel, we chose it mainly because everything else was sold out and it was the cheapest option of all the hotel rooms that were still available.

The room was really small and hot. Even if it was raining outside the room was very hot. We only stayed one night, so it was still ok.

They were refurbishing the hotel at the time, which wasn't disturbing us at all, because we stayed there at the weekend. The refurbishing is really needed! Because the hotel looked old and tired. I remember the other Scandics i stayed at were much nicer, and therefore we were quite surpised when we arrived.

I can't say anything about the breakfast because they start serving it at 8am on Sundays and we had to leave before that. We had no option to get an earlier breakfast even if we asked for it.

We also had our dog with us, and he could stay in the room for an extra fee of 10 euros, which i think is ok, since the other hotel we were looking at had 25 euro fee for pets.

The stay was ok, but not nice. It's an ok place to stay at if you are just looking for a place to sleep.

I stayed at the scandic in Pori mainly because I have the hilton honors card and get a good deal from Scandic (17e voucher, upgraded room, 25% off in the restaurant etc). This was the only reason I picked it and even with those benefits I probably wouldn't stay again.
The hotel is tired and old and the rooms are small - pretty much as small as you can get and still fit a double bed so that you can get in from both sides. There didn't seem to be anything such as a superior room (like at Scandic Tampere City) since the floor plan showed all the rooms to have the same tiny box like size. Decor and fittings were sad looking and worn out.
Typical for a finnish hotel they had not thought about warm summers and even opening the window (which happily you could do) did not cool down the room (this was with it only +16 outside!!). memo to finnish hotel designers - people stay in hotels in July and a table fan is not enough to cool the room !
The restaurant was typical for scandic and I think the menu was identical to the one in Tampere. Breakfast was likewise exactly the same, only the layout and size of the bowls of fruits and berries was different !
Another reviewer said it was just outside the city centre, which is correct but only in terms of "just outside" meaning 100 metres. Pori is so small that you can walk anywhere in the centre within about 5mins from the hotel.
There was parking next to the hotel and our room faced this car park, although not with enough of a view to see who dented the side of my car while it was parked in one of the small parking spaces!
