This hotel is located in the Hakaniemi district, a short ride away from central Helsinki. The room was large, modern and well appointed with large windows offering spectacular views of the Baltic Sea. We ate a meal at their restaurant and sampled some wonderful local cuisine including salmon and reindeer meat. I visited the beautiful Helsinki Cathedral which is just a short stroll away.

beautiful location, just a nice short walk to the center. The hotel might not be newly decorate but 70's interiors are well maintained and give it a touch of originality. Extremely clean, large rooms with coffee facilities. Spa and swimmingpool are nice and cosy. Excellent sumptuous breakfast. A high class experience.

We were treated quite nicely after we complained about the state of the room. It's from the early 80's as explained to us by their manager who apologized refusely and upgraded us because there were so many problems with our first room: noisy, stains on carpet, holes in sheets, hairs all over the place. Everything is quite shabby but at the same time, the price was very low.

Breakfast is an absolute horror. Who has watered down coffee or even freeze dried coffee to serve. The ham and other things were cut in half, probably to save costs. We were so disappointed. Albeit the management did try to make things right.

I can't wait to go back when they do a complete renovation in 2013 though (and if they change their breakfast) because it's in a great location.

This is an old Intercontinental property, which gives some of the interiors a slight 70s feel. Rooms are always high standard though, with very comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Surprisingly dull lobby restaurant at dinner though, which Hilton should make an effort to tart up and make more appealing. You will get your standard Club or Burger, but without any frills or ambiance.

I switched to this property from another hotel nearby and stay here often mainly beacuse they do recognise me when I return, provide a quick and no nonsense check in and sometimes I even get the upgrade.
