We arrived in Helsinki off the overnight train from Kemi and had no hotel reservations. We went online at the train station and my husband found Hotel Linna which was near city center and had a very reasonable rate. I believe the building was a church originally, in any case it is a nice mix of old and new. Our room was small but very comfortable with flat screen TV. free wifi and a very nice well lit bathroom. The breakfast is quite typical of what you will get a most Scandinavian hotels, full selection of hot items, eggs, sausages and plenty of cheeses, ham, museli, yoghurt, great breads, juices and of course very good coffee. We were not able to get a room there on our most recent trip to Helsinki because it was under renovation but we look forward to staying there again.

I was very satisfied with the hotel over all. Although they do some renovations at the minute. Nice, helpful staff at the reception. The rooms are nice and cosy with comfortable beds.
The location of the hotel is also quite good - not to far away from the city centre (all in walking distance).
Breakfast is all right with a quite good variety of food.
I would come back - when ever I have the pleasure of visiting Helsinki again.

Helpful and polite staff. The hotel was extremely well located, close to center, easy to go museums, shopping, port, station. Room was nice. The bedroom was not large, but bathroom was good size. Breakfasts with lots of choice. Wifi was pretty slow.

Located in an old medieval building, inside a connections of medieval&contemporary design, quite extraordinary. Good location, a lot of places to eat nearby as there is no restaurant in the hotel. Very nice, friendly staff. Stayed in a single room, a bit small, but well furnished. No view from a window as it opens in the inner court, so I think it's better to stay on the top floors.
