Me and my husband stayed here for a weekend. The location was perfect! On arrival after 4 pm in the afternoon, we went for a drink, had dinner and then went to Kiasma to see the whole African Art. As we left Kiasma at closing time at 10 pm it was pouring down. But - with only 5 minutes to run back to the hotel that wasn't a problem! The room was nice. The only real disappointment was the breakfast. Too crowded. Still, next time in Helsingfors/Helsinki, we will probably stay there again.

Hotel Simonkenttä is big, modern and clean. I´ve stayed there on several occasions and on many different rooms. Service has always been really nice, friendly and polite. Rooms are nice and clean, but as this is a chain hotel you shoudn´t expect it to have much of a personal or unique touch. If you want something extra book Superior Plus room with own sauna and balcony with view over city.

Best thing about the hotel is the location. Very close to main shopping area, lots of restaurants nearby etc. I also always find this hotel quiet and calm to sleep in. Some guests have been complaining about street and night club noise but it has never bothered me.

Breakfast is usually pretty good, although sometimes crowded. Parking is available on a garage nearby. It´s pretty expensive (around 25 euros I think), but so is all parking in Helsinki.

was expecting more, especially after great experience with Scandic in Oslo. service is on a medium level. Location OK. too expensive for the offered services. free wifi, which was turnde off unexpectedly

I was only in Helsinki for a day and a half and the Scandic Simonkentta was much better than I expected. The room was a good size and very comfortable and clean. Very much a timber theme throughout. Good size bathroom, shampoo/shower gel supplied (on the wall). I was impressed with their attention to conservation hence the shampoo on the wall and not in individual bottles and a recycle bin in the room. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the train station although I didn't know that at the time and besides it was snowing very heavily. The most amazing buffet breakfast that I have ever laid eyes on, not just the quantity but also the variety. I would definitely stay there again. I also had a lunch and a dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed both meals.
