A not so known chain with quite central location. Good amenities and descent for a business hotel I would say.
Location 7/10:
In the central part of the city, on Mannheimer Street, just a 10 minute walk to the city center with all shopping. Easy access from the airport with shuttle bus, or taxi. Approximately 30 m with no rush hour. A few restaurant close by and a small convenient store just outside.
Lobby/Check-in 4/10:
Big lobby with lots of seating groups, modern and clean. Staff does not speak that well English and I had a man that was so un-service minded and that I could hardly hear what he was saying, even though I excused myself repeatedly. Did not even put in an effort. Room key did not work when I got up and had to change. Had requested away from elevators, but got just that the first time.
Room 6/10:
A good size double room with two single beds that were put together, but the room was modern and nice. A lot of space for storage and all machines hidden away. Had view out from the front, so it was nice to open up the curtains with a view. The bathroom was good sized with a lot of space to leave bathroom stuff. A lot of hangers for towels, which I hardly see in rooms these days. Bathtub that looked new and nice, so one actually felt like taking a bath. Bed was very comfortable and lots of pillows. Very good lighting with a lot of options. There was a mini bar, but not a good selection, a water boiler with coffee and tea, a safe and an ironing board.
The wireless internet is complimentary, but it was extremely slow.
Restaurants 4/10:
Did not try the restaurants for lunch or dinner, but what I heard from colleagues there was good selection of standard dishes and they were ok.
The breakfast buffet was just average. It fills its purpose, but nothing special or spectacular. Many would probably argue that you do not need that much anyway, or that one eats very similar things for breakfast anyway, but when I am in a hotel, I want a proper hotel buffet with good selection and options, ie. possibility to have an omelette or eggs Benedict.
Other:
There were a modern and very well equipped public gym/fitness centre with a large sized pool, so that was very good, included in the price. The minus was the opening hours.
Did not see or ask for the business centre, but they have one.
I would say its an ok business hotel with a quite good location that fits its purpose for a business stay over just a few days and if you want to see the city. The positive part is that stores here are open to very late.
A negative side is that hotel staff, as well as Finns in general, are not that good in English, but on the other hand; much better than many other touristic places in the world.
