Hotel Hotel Santa Claus falls well short of what I have come to expect from a four star hotel. Upon arrival there is no porter to take your luggage to your room. We booked a deluxe room to accommodate our two children, as there are no family rooms. The rooms are very small with with two single beds pushed together for the adults and children sleep on the couch. There was not enough cupboard space, and only 5 hangers, when I asked for more hangers the hotel reception told me they cannot give me anymore. I was charged 10 euro for small milk cartons that should have been replaced by the cleaning staff. The children's facility in non existent, and there are no facilities such as indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi or gym. We were forced to take the Christmas special which included three diner buffets. The food was of a poor standard with many of the hot dishes being cold. In general the staff are not friendly or helpful.
I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family

The hotel is situated in the middle of town which is great but this is no where near 4 star as was rated by First Choice. Bring your own shampoo etc. Our superior room for a family of 4 was small and the beds had no proper matresses but, what looked like a thick douvet. My sons bed consisted of 2 stools put together which was dangerous and the hotel refused to change it so he had to sleep with us. The breakfast was excellent but they did have trailing wires to toasters etc . We chose the hotel for the advertised childrens play area which was non existent. After complaining every day about the lack of it we were told they were building it but by the last day of our trip this was a small office off reception with some loose sheets of paper on a table and a few pens and not much more. Food is totally overpriced with a main course meal at £30 so very expensive if you add starter and wine etc.

We have just returned from a magical holiday to lapland. It's very rare to find a holiday that exceeds expectations, this one did! The hotel is well situated, very comfortable, clean and has one of the best choices for breakfast we have ever seen.

The Lapland holidays are expensive in comparison, however, go with the tour operator and trust their planning of activities - you won't be dissappointed, thank you Thomson!! Nick M & Family.

hotel is located in the middle of rovaniemi. right beside the shopping area and only 5 minutes from the worlds most northernly mcdonalds.
hotel is clean. we had a superior room with four single beds (one a sofa converted) our party was two adults and two children so it suited us. breakfast was a large spread. porridge,cereals, fruit, pastries and cooked food. more than enough to set you up for a day meeting santa claus.
all the attractions to do with christmas were about fifteen minutes drive away. santa claus world, snow mobiling, husky and raindeer rides and ski/sowboarding school.
the down side was the cost of the internet 5euros an hour or 15euros all day (we didn't use it) surprised at the price of the beer in the hotel bar only 5.50 to 6 euros depending on what you drank
staff very friendly . our toilet backed up one morning and it was fixed straight away.
would stay here again if we were in the area.
