Hotel was in a good location, close to the shops and tour offices, breakfast was excellent and they had a games area in the restaurant where the kids could play while we ate a more relaxed meal. When we arrived the reception staff were not helpful at all (we arrived on the 7:15am train from Helsinki and were essentially told to go away for a bit) but when we returned the new person was good. Room had internal windows which was a bit odd, looking into the central atrium area which sort of meant you couldn't have the curtains open much!

We stayed here from 21st Dec 11 to 26th Dec 11.
Family of 4 = 2 adults, 5yr old and 15yr old. Due to having 15 yr old we had to book two rooms for stay with First Choice as was classed as adult in hotel. Rooms have two beds in, bathroom with shower(shampoo and showergel supplied), hair drier, tv (not alot of english), full length mirrors, trouser press and phone. Breakfast is all you can eat buffet. No kettle in room but we found hot water was free in reception, so take cup and coffee etc and your sorted. Staff aways willing to help or find out things for you, always saying hello. Rooms madeup every day, need clean towels pop them on floor in bath room and they change them. Everything is well within walking, Mcdonalds is just over the road, supermarket as well. Short walk to Sience musum. Lots of shops around for buying that take home item. Really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel and staff are great and I would highly recommend this for all who visit this part of Finland.

Stay for 4 nights on a First Choice Lapland Holiday.
The Scandic is in the Center of Rovaniemi ideal location for the shops and restaurants.The room was adequate for the time we were in it,the hotel and the room were clean with the snow we had. The Breakfast was great and as much as you can eat, and the staff in the restaurant and reception were Excellent. The room was on the mean road said of the Hotel but no noise at all.
