The hotel is located just next to a lake, little bit outside of the town center but still within a walking distance from everything worth seeing. The room was quite large and well equipped, beds were very comfortable. Free wireless internet and car park was also available.
Breakfast quality was OK, there was a lot to choose from and everybody could find something they like. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The only thing which could be refreshed is the exterior which seems a little bit old and not that clean.

Having stayed in a few Scandic Hotels recently, this is definitely the best.

I only stayed one night so did not get chance to see the facilities, only the room, reception and breakfast.

The room has a balcony with a great view over the lake. The furnishings and whole room was very clean, very tidy and well presented. Wireless internet was fairly decent speed too.

Reception and check in were faultless. The breakfast was also plentiful and to a high standard.

I can't write more as it was purely a quick stop. However, I could not of asked for more.

Very nice hotel.

I have spent several week-long trips at the Kuopio Scandic Hotel....I was always upgraded and had a room overlooking Lake Khallavesi.....really beautiful. Beds were comfortable and rooms large and quiet. Shower is great, nice & strong! I only wish that they had some rooms with a sauna! They did have saunas in the hotel, but they were scheduled....swimming pool is nice.

This was a great hotel. We had a beautiful lakefront view, the breakfast was great, lots of different things to try, the staff were very helpful, free internet access, beautiful town, lovely walks, a wonderful restaurant directly opposite. Not cheap but well worth it. The only quibble would be that the pool/sauna area is only open for a couple of hours a day, seems a shame to have it sitting there all day with noone using it. I realise they might not want to heat the sauna all day but it would be nice to be able to have a dip in the pool during the day.
