Excellent location if you arrive into the city on the Airport bus as this stops at the Nils Ericsonsplatsen terminal - next door to the hotel!! Just a word of warning - the airport bus driver does not accept cash nor do any of the ticket machines - card only. You'll save money by buying a return ticket at the airport.
The hotel is unique in the fact that it is built above the main train station - don't let this put you off as the rooms are very very quiet and you would not know if you couldn't see it. The room was a fair size and decorated in a contemporary swedish style. It was well equipped with a free safe, coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryer. It was clean and very comfortable.
All the staff were very friendly and proffessional.
There is a large open plan bar/lobby area and a large breakfast room. Having read previous reviews that breakfast could be chaotic, we went down about 8.15 (weekend) and had no problem at all - plenty of seats to choose from. The buffet had an excellent selection including, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, yogurts, cold meats, pate, herring, cheese, salad, breads, pastries and hot items as well. By about 9.15 (when we left), the buffet area and seating had become busy.
The hotel also has a large left luggage room which is kept locked. Also for added security, you have to use your room key to access the lift to the rooms.
The hotel has the perfect location, not just for the close proximity to the bus terminal, but also has tram stops right outside and is directly opposite the huge Norstan shopping centre. The City is generally very walkable and pedestrian friendly, it is only a 25 minute stroll to get to Liseberg amusement park on the other side of the city.
The other good thing about the location, if you are using the airport bus to return to the airport it starts at the Nils Ericson station, therefore you will be first on and be able to stow your luggage easily, the buses can get very busy as there are numerous other pick ups in the city.
Would return to this hotel if in Gothenburg again.
