This was my 3rd stay to this hotel, always for business. Starting with the location, it is extremely convenient for my work because I don't have to cross the river during the rush hour, when the traffic is heavy (I always use a taxi for my transportations in Gothenburg). During spring, summer and early autumn one will definitely enjoy the walks and jogging in the area. I would say that during the rest of the year this area is quite cold and humid, but of course this is totally subjective. I would definitely recommend this area to all business travelers. However, if you're considering this place for your vacation, keep in mind that in order to reach the city centre you will have to get a bus (until appr. 22:00 I think) or a ferry, which passes-by every half hour in the afternoon and then every our at night (until 23:00) or a taxi, which will cost you 200-300 sek, depending on your destination downtown.
The hotel building was an old shipyard. Many of its characteristics have been maintained, adding a pleasant industrial tone in the decoration. The rooms are spacious and this is one of the things I like about this hotel. You can work on the desk without having to rearrange stuff, you have space for your luggage, there is an armchair and a small coffee table as well. The temperature in the room seems to be tuned pleasantly. The bathroom is basic, with a spacious shower. In overall, the room is minimal and very clean.
The breakfast is really good. The restaurant is quite crowded, even early in the morning, but after you find a spot, everything goes smoothly. Great variety in the buffet. 5-stars to this.
The hotel service is really helpful with everything, from reserving a table to a restaurant downtown to getting us tickets for the ferry that takes you to the city centre.
There is a nice bar-restaurant at the top floors, with a great view towards the river and the city center. The food is average but you can grab some nice snacks until late at night (around 21:30-22:00) which is not very usual in Gothenburg and especially in Eriksberg. This is a plus, especially when late arrivals are involved.
In overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone because I think there's something attractive about it. Of course if you're traveling for pleasure, choosing a hotel downtown will probably be more convenient.
