Actually these two things are already can be reason for booking exactly this hotel.

Price for a room is quite moderate. Its not in the center but actually 9 minutes from it. And place is really calm. You don't have crowds hanging around beside your window as in Gamla Stan.
Nice view if you`re lucky to get the room on the 18th floor. We were:). They have some problems with central heating. It means it can be either cold either hot in some rooms. Our first night was a little bit cold. But as we had a talk about it with reception we got room upgrade next day with fruits and champagne. Nice isn't it?

We were in company convention trip. Spent a night here. Food was good. Rooms clean and nice

The hotel is located outside the city (about 10km) in lonely place. The railway station is 500m away. Commuter train comes from Stockholm central to Alvsjo in every 5-10 min. You can see the tall hotel in left side from the train while coming from city. Though this is four star hotel but facility wise its not up to mark. But yes value for money because in city center cost is double than this. Breakfast is indeed good. Room ambiance is okay type.

My wife and I stayed at the Rica Talk for 5 nights during a business conference.

Location:
The hotel is located 15-30 minutes by taxi and 10 minutes by train to Stockholm City Center. The train stop is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel entrance. Besides the hotel restaurant/bar, there is nothing in the immediate vicinity of the Rica Talk.

Room:
The room had boring decor but was clean and comfortable. The wifi signal was inconsistent and weak. The room was not cleaned daily.

Service:
The hotel was generally understaffed. Additionally, I found the staff to be inattentive and easily flustered when presented with a problem (poorly trained). A couple examples: the staff was unable to figure out how to print a word document needed for a presentation. I tried to assist the staff in this function but they were reluctant to take direction from me. Additionally, my room was not cleaned daily. On one occassion, I requested to have my room cleaned after being out all day and the staff told me I had two options: 1) move myself and all my luggage to a room several floors away or 2) put up with the room in its current state. Although I do not generally mind making my own bed and tidying up after myself, I do expect to have my room cleaned daily when I am paying $350+ USD per night.

I understand that Stockholm is expensive for an American, but I found this hotel to be unreasonably expensive considering the service, location and amenities. I would not stay here again.

Pros - I found the breakfast to be excellent. The variety and quality of breakfast food was the highlight of my stay.
