Stayed here for 1 night on business.
It's the most unlike-a-hotel hotel I've ever stayed in.
When the taxi pulled up outside the building, I thought 'we're lost, he must be going to ask directions" - but he wasn't - we were at the Hassebly Slott - So don't expect anything like the logo on their website - that ain't the hotel !!
Also be aware the 'hotel' is spread across multiple buildings on the site - so there is a requirement to walk from the building your room is in to the building containing the restaurant, for meals etc.
That said, the evening we stayed, the restaurant was closed. But the receptionists were very friendly and helpful, they reckoned the nearest other restaurant was about a 10 minute walk. It was already late (21:00) and we didn't fancy the walk, so they made us some cheese sandwiches which we washed down with a beer from the bar (a small selection of spirits and a fridge containing bottled beers)
Unfortunately, the bar (and 'main' section of the hotel) closed at 22:00pm, so we then had to make our way to the various out-buildings that provide the accommodation element of the hotel. The paths between the buildings are just gravel tracks, shared with cars, taxis etc so full of puddles when wet. (Each building has ample umbrellas by the front door for when it's actually raining).
The room itself was best described as 'simple'. It was reminiscent of student accommodation on campus. There was a single bed, a 2 seater sofa, tv (very limited channels), small table, chair, bedside cabinet and a 2nd single bed folded up into the wall - oh, and a rug. Note, I didn't list any luxury items like carpet - 'cause there weren't any. The shower was also very 'rustic' - but clean with plenty of hot water at a decent pressure and a stable temperature. So that was a nice surprise, at least it would have been pleasant if it weren't for the shower curtain - I hate how they get sucked into the cubicle and stick to your legs. The only toiletries provided were a small bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo/conditioner, nothing worth pinching to replenish the stock at home. (Additional soap, shampoo/conditioner, pillow and towels were all in the wardrobe - which interestingly, had proper wooden coat hangers).
All in all - it was clean - staff were friendly and helpful - but it was very basic, not the sort of place I normally stay.
Would I stay there again ?
Only if I couldn't get booked into anywhere else.
In short:
I suspect it's the sort of place some people love for it's rustic tranquility and other people hate for it's lack of anything resembling luxury.
