I stayed at Formule1 during the recent European Society of Cardiology meeting in Stockholm. Having read some of the reviews on this webpage I was a little concerned, especially about arriving after 9pm when reception has closed. I needed have been worried. The automated booking system worked perfectly, I simply put my card into the machine at the door and was given my code number for both the main door and my room. I had no problems with this system at all.
Looking at some of the comments of other reviewers:
1. c.40 euro a night is really AMAZING value for Stockholm.
2. The location is actually very good. You can park for free. The area is very safe. The underground (T Bahn) which is 5 mins walk away takes only 15 mins to the very centre of town. If you are going to Stockholmsmassen (the very large conference centre in South Stockholm) it is a great choice as buses 142 or 161 go directly frm outside the hotel to the conference centre and take only 10 mins. (Many colleagues were put up in hotels to the north of town and took 90 mins to get there).
3. The manager is actually extremely friendly and helpful in my experience and was not at all rude as suggested in some other reviews.
4. The place is extremely clean.
5. The toilets and showers, although shared at the end of the corridor, do not smell and are very clean.
6. Rooms at the back of the building (even numbers I think) are not at all noisy from the road at night.
7. It is true that it is difficult to get through by phone but that is because reception is only manned at certain hours so they can keep the place clean and keep prices down. It is manned at 12.30 local time, and I think early in the morning.
8. Breakfast is available for 4 Euro.
9 There is also wifi broadband for 10 Euro for 7 days which worked very well.
Of course I accept other visitors experiences, but reading about them made me a little nervous and as I say I think it is actually a very good choice.
