“Very good hotel”

Stayed in the Berns Hotel for one night only, but it made a really good impression on me:

Big room
Clean (room, private livingroom and the rest of the hotel)
Staff was helpfull and very friendly
I didn't experienced any noise whatsoever, so really quited place to stay

But.....the only downfall could be the breakfast, the hotel could earn that excellent point by making this as luxurious as the rest of the hotel!

Other then that great hotel in beautiful Stockholm

“Great hotel, but overpriced....”

Room was €261 not what I expected, room was small, place is very in need of a refurb, badly, especially the bathroom, mirrors on top of you everywhere, bathroom could be extended to give more space, impossible to get changed in bathroom, too small....

Drop prices, do a refurb and I'd happily come back...

“Great location, very nice stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

I was on the business trip in Stockholm and stayed 2 nights at Berns. I'm a big fan of old beauty and Berns made a very positive impression on me. Yes, hotel can be a bit noisy (didn't bother my sleep) but rooms are comfortable and location awesome. You should also try Berns (dining room) restaurant downstairs. Very nice atmosphere, very friendly, trendy staff and good food. Will definitely come back!

“Grand entrance”

It was my first trip to Stockholm and this hotel made it a good one. Happy to see on line reviews can be trusted! Most give the Berns a good grade and I agree. I found it a lovely, lively and very personable place to stay while spending two days in the city.

Design is a big deal in Sweden as we know and it takes a big centre stage at Berns. Rooms are decorated with a mix of sleek and stylish modern furniture, all needed electronic amenities, combined with odd pop art on walls (Lomography on lucite, scrap collages with oil and paper) and the even odder 1940-ish piece of wood furniture (which works). Eclectic even for Stockholm. Beds were soft and the sleep good, although if you are a stickler about sheets you might want for a higher thread count beneath your bones. But only if you are really posh and not tired. Otherwise, you will sleep like a baby.

The hotel manger, Anna, leads a well trained and personable team which made sure my room, 105, a lovely suite with a terrace overlooking a patio) ready for my arrival, complete with wine and chocolates. Good reading materials were provided, even Swedish and English versions of "The Girl Who Played With Fire".... good way to extend the experience.

Closets were well equipped with real hangers (not the ones that you have to thread back into the holders....) and there was no lack of amenities. Towels were super absorbant and the rainfall showerhead refreshing.

Breakfast was wonderful! Lovely selection of fruits, fruit smoothies and yogurts... the buffet invited you to fill your plate with organic mixtures of flaxen seed, interesting mixes of delicious teas and breads, as well as a good range of cheeses and meats.

We also had dinner the night before at the Asian restaurant. We had a lovely curry and veggies, service was relaxed, the environment very appealing with beautiful low lighting and an eclectic mix of people.

Definitely would return.... thank you Stockholm! Thank you Berns!

“Unfortunately...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Unfortunately quite a bad experience at the Bern's hotek in Stockholm. Staff is friendly, recptionist nice, but the hotel is extremely noisy, poor service, bad rooms or suites. The hotel is a XIXth century theatre, which is nice, the dining room is the old theater area, The breaffast is average and they make you understand that you need to finish soon when your time is over. There is no service as expected for exemple changing the towels is not organized, but people do it friendly, with time. This is not a 5 star hotel, this is not even, in my opinion a trendy hotel. It is just a place looking to be an hotel. The Fornazzetti paperwall at the reception is not enough guys to be what you want to be.
