Stockholm is very pricy so I am not sure how this compares value wise with other hotels but it certainly seemed dear. It is a very old hotel with lots of charm but the rooms felt tired and desparately needing a few mod cons like a plasma tv. The biggest drawback of the hotel is the level of cleanliness I mean it was really dirty, hair all over the bed, nail polish in the tub, dust on the furniture. On the plus side the location and breakfast can not be faulted, sort out the housekeeping and the hotel could be a lot better

This was our second time at the Victory and our impression was just as positive as the first time. We had a lovely large room, very comfortable and with the usual mod cons, such as wi fi, as well as a welcoming carafe of sherry. Breakfasts had actually improved since the first time we had been there, though regrettably weather had shut down the garden restaurant and the cellar restaurant was not open except for breakfast. Staff were as before, cheerful and helpful, and the location cannot be bettered.

I decided to chance this hotel, notwithstanding the several critical reviews it received, because of all its obvious plusses: Location, Style, History, Interest. I am very, very pleased that we stayed.

We were treated extremely well from the moment we stepped out of our cab. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfast staff worked hard to make each guest feel they were special and succeeded admirably.

The breakfast was generous and the smorgasboard plates and tables kept full until well after the shutdown time for breakfast.

The rooms are furnished with antiques, but also with all the important modern amenties: comfortable beds, working bathroom equipment, good lighting and WiFi that also works.

This hotel is a charming gem, perfectly located, well run and maintained.

Ignore the Moriarties with their negative vibes and you will not be sorry you stayed. There are many negative people out there who just do not want to be satisfied.

For us, the Victory was a perfect, exquisite lead in to what proved to be an extraordinary, superlative Baltic cruise.

we stayed there six nigths, three in middle august and three at the end of august, after our scandinavia trip. We loved gamlia stan, the old town of the city and would stay there again, lots of narrow streets and shops, good restaurants. The hotel was very nice, with free wi-fi in the room and all hotel, very good breakfast. The whole hotel has maritime paintings and objects and each room has a captains's name. The hotel is just a subway stop from the central station and you can walk to other parts of the city very easily.
