“It's a 3,5 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

As you already know, the hotel is undergoing renovation, and there's some noise during 9am-6pm, but nothing too bad.

We stayed in a Junior Suite, and its quite OK, nothing spectacular, but it was clean and enough space for a suite.

The lobby area with the bar and the restaurant is a bit boring, and there's other hotels in Stockholm with a nicer atmosphere.

Anyway, the hotel is in a good central spot in Stockholm, and the pricing is very competitive, thus our choice of hotel this time around.

“Stayed here for the second time...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

...and I am still satisfied. Whenever I go for a short break in Stockholm, this hotel suits my needs. Mainly because of the perfect location for shopping and access to trains/buses to the airport.
And not to forget the pool and jacuzzi.

I arrived really early (11:30), and asked if I could put my luggage in a storage space while taking a walk. The receptionist checked the status of the room, then gave me the key and I was very happy to be able to use the room from such an early time.

The decor of the rooms is still a bit outdated. They are renovating, luckily we didn't see or hear any construction work during our stay, but the price isn't too bad. There was a bathtub in the bathroom, which for me is important (great when travelling with small children). Hopefully they won't throw these out when renovating the rooms...

We chose not to buy breakfast at the hotel this time, and instead went to the coffeeshop right next door to the hotel every morning, which was pleasant.

We were two adult friends sharing a room, and chose a double room with two separate beds. Funnily enough, after the cleaning ladies had been there on the second day, the two beds were pushed together, as to resemble one large double bed. We tried to separate the beds again, but they were so heavy we couldn't move them at all. It was no big deal, but we were a bit puzzled why they would do this when cleaning the rooms...(?)

I love hanging out in the reception area, in the lounge seats or in the bar, which is very popular at night with people of all ages and occupations. Will definitely stay here again next time.

“renovation needed”

Apparently some rooms have undergone some renovation. this was certainly not the case with mine. It was outdated and just plain ugly... Slept like a rose though and had an excellent breakfast.

“Not a good experience at all!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

This Hotel is really handy if you are travelling from the airport by train into Stockholm, it's right by the station. There is nothing else exciting about it. I am typing this while in the hotel.

I don't know what the rating is, however having stayed in many hotels, I would say it's just as good as a 3 star if not less. It's quite like being at the holiday inn and for the money you pay, it's not worth it.

The good things
proximity to station
comfortable bed and pillows

The bad
You pay to park - quite expensive at £37 per night, just across the road
Not much in the bathroom, you have to call them, but they will bring ear buds etc if needed
Very rough towels, bring your own.
Very dirty phone, bring wipes.
Small, dated TV from the nineties
The breakfast is awful - they gave me a pile of burnt, crispy bacon. Very mushy scrambled egg and a pile of sausage, all delivered to my room with nothing else. Not even a glass of water of bun. The next day, the food was well presented but still burnt bacon.

The staff seem kind, however the cleaners keep asking about cleaning even if you have do no disturb on your door. My room is near a crossing I think. I keep hearing this noise as it does when it tells people to cross. The lifts are miles away from our room and not well signposted. You don't know whether to turn left or right.

In the room, I wanted to boil water in the kettle and it looks mouldy. No complimentary biscuits for the coffee, not even a chocolate on the bed and all this for a whooping £170 per night.

Welcome to Sweden. If you want luxury this is not the place, this place is worth £70 per night, no more. It's very dated too in terms of the deco.
I forgot to tell you about dinner - the lobster is a waste of money, don't order it, the lamb burger is worth it.

When we asked them to clean our room they did it but left a dirty napkin in the room and door open. Will I stay here again - simply no. Can I recommend this place - as a last choice yes.

Room Tip: If you have a gold card use it, they may upgrade you. We did that but the room is still not to our s...

“Hotel with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Staying at this hotel was a good experience for me. It is convenently located and connected to the major attractions of the city. There are a couple og good restaurants nearby and the the cntral station is just meteres away.

The hotel itself is well maintained, clean and had good facilities for conferences and a pleasant stay. The breakd-fast buffet was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recomment this to others.
