“Good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2007

Stayed at the Quality Prince Philip Hotel in Skärholmen, Stockholm for a couple of nights in December 2007.

The hotel is a decent 3 star hotel, nothing more nothing less. The only issue I would have was with the sice of the room. We were 2 adults and 1 child travelling. I did request a room with either a sofa bed or fold out bed which we did get. However, with the sofa bed out there were not a whole lot of room to move around in, actually no room at all. Since we didnt really spend any time in the hotel besides for our beauty sleep it wasnt that big a deal, but still...

Breakfast was really good, self service and buffet style with a brilliant selection!

The hotel is about 20 mins from Stockholm City on the tube. It is a couple of minutes walk from Skärholmen tube station and there is also a good size shopping centre, with all the usual Swedish High Street stores. Ikea (the furniture & home interior store) is also within walking distance from the hotel as is Heron City with movie screens, amusements, restaurants etc. Perfect for a rainy day!

All in all a decent hotel, in a handy location.

“Quality Prince Philip - good value in an expensive city -Stockholm Sweden”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2007

Quality Prince Philip Stockholm -We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in August 2007and took the metro every day to the centerof the city. We felt that this hotel gave us very good value for our money, we are pensioners and the price was a consideration for us. The hotel is pleasant, the room was simple but clean and airy with comfortable beds, the staff is very helpful in perfect English, the breakfast was a wonderful surprise with a great variety and large dining room, the down side is the 10-15 minute walk to the metro through a shopping center- but we would certainly return.

“Nice hotel but a few flaws”

This was essentially a nice hotel. The parking was convenient, and rooms were of a good standard. However, there were an incredibly large number of smashed mirrors around the hotel, in my room and elevators, etc which was a bit odd. Some areas of the hotel were quite scruffy too. There was also some sort of conference on in the evening close to the restaurant which made dinner quite noisy.

However, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food in the restaurant was fantastic.

  • Liked — Convenient to a site I was visiting, and the food
  • Disliked — Smashed mirrors!

“lovely hotel”

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel has been completly refurbished. The rooms are modern and very comfortable and nice and warm, which is a bonus when you are in Sweden in January. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was superb. The ride into the city center takes about 15 mins and the underground stat
ion is a 10 min walk away if that.
I would certainly use this hotel again if I was in Stockholm. The area of Skarholmen where the hotel is has two shopping centers and some nice places to eat.

“This is a motel at best, not recommended”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2007

Where to begin...

The hotel is run-down, damaged walls, broken pieces of a mirror littered the hallway outside my room, the elevator stopped about 5 inches short of the floor so you had to step down into the elevator. There were no washcloths in the bathroom, the heating was intermittent, only one thin blanket on the bed. Very limited TV channels, their "pay" movies are outdated and the remote didn't like to work unless it was 1 foot from the television. Pack your own clothes hangers, they only give you 2.
The area the hotel is in, is not a safe area (although Stockholm is a great city, this particular area was not a good place to be out at night). No vending machines, very limited supplies at the front desk and limited parking.
To those american travelers thinking of booking this hotel, just pay the extra money and stay in the city, you will not regret that decision. Stockholm is a beautiful city and staying at this hotel will ruin your visit.
