Hotel has recently been refurbished. Rooms are in good condition with large LCD TV, wireless acces everywhere.
breakfast was typically Swedish type buffet, but the scrambled eggs was not recommended.

Although finding a place to park in Kalmar centre isn't too difficult you have to pay up to 3pm, after which it is free.

Very small rooms, with all your basic needs. ok for the price given.
Nice breakfast.
Must see: The castle and the island: Øland, a 30 minuts drive away

Me and my boyfriend spent two nights in Kalmarsund Hotell in the beginning of august. At the first glance, the hotel seemed a bit disappointing. The hotel has probably seen its best days. Especially the room we got was rather dull and the bathroom was a bit out of style. (I think there were some renovations going on, though) But the service at the front desk was very good, as was the breakfast. (A bit crowdy though) The hotels' location is great for exploring kalmar city and the castle. After the initial disappointment, it turned out that the hotel had everything we needed during our stay, such as internet access near the lobby, newspapers, tee, coffee and cookies, a bubble bath and a sauna, as well as friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, and a table at the entrance with leaflest about the surrounding sights and activities.

Best Western hotel in the nice Baltic Sea town of Kalmar, South East Sweden. There is a small bar and restaurant etc. but hotel is in the middle of the town so there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Typical standard Scandinavian bedrooms, two single beds pushed together, bathroom with shower only, also onsite parking. Good Wireless network throughout the bedrooms and public areas (paid for service).
