“a good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

we stayed here for one night, room is clean and we got a big window can look down the river side which is quiet nice. very good location just 5 mins walk to the station.
the only downside is that the bathtub is not sealed from the side, so that water from the shower can run down from all three sides and onto the floor.

“Good value for the money, which is difficult in Sweden - and a GREAT breakfast buffet!”

Spent 4 nights at the Elite due to a lecture series at Malmo University. Very cozy hotel - nice room (single bed, narrow but comfy), functional bathroom with a real shower door as opposed to shower curtains (otherwise the norm in Sweden) and free Internet connection. Room was pleasantly furnished, good size desk, auto pants presser in room (but no ironing board, not very woman-centric), flat screen TV on wall, small tea kettle in room (no real coffee maker) and limited clothing storage capacity (also typical for Swedish hotels.)

The bed and pillows were designed for Lilliputians or children - had to ask for 3 pillows and an extra blanket. Room temperature was kept at a steady 68F - freezing, quite frankly, so they hauled a space heater into the room. Sweden is going through some of its coldest winters ever, and the hotel didn't seem to pay attention. But the space heater was more than adequate, in addition to the weak heat being pumped through the building.

Breakfast was AWESOME. All sorts of breads and cheeses, plus a small section for gluten or lactose intolerant people. Some good fruits, yogurts, cut veggies - perfect for someone health-conscious. Staff was very pleasant and solicitous. Had to ask for cotton balls and Q tips - not in the room. Toiletries are marginal, but commensurate with the room price. Quiet hotel mainly for business travelers. Would definitely stay again and it does seem that they get a good amount of regulars.

“I'd stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2010

I booked a superior room, it was on the top floor, view wasn’t much from my room. No fridge, and a lot of things my booking website said each room had wasn’t there, eg. complimentary newspaper, clock radio, some toiletries like sewing kits and shoe polish you had to ask for at reception. But for me, those things are not so important. At least I got hair conditioner, when most hotels only supply shampoo. The room was nice and big, and a seperate area for all your baggage which was nice. Large desk, coffee table, comfy armchair, a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. You only get 3 hours of internet access per night’s stay. Location is 2 mins from train station, good if you’re having to catch a train to Copenhagen Airport. Also about a block away from a shopping area, but not the main shopping district. Quiet hotel, friendly English speaking staff. Breakfast was adequate, not as varied as other hotels, but filling enough.

“only stayed here 1 night but it was very convenient!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2009

I was on my first ever trip to Sweden, going for a days worth of interview for a new company. I had scant instructions, just that I was fly to Copenhagen then get the train to Malmo, check into this hotel, then wait outside at a pre-arranged time and this guy called Ian, that I'd never met before, would come and meet me. All very 007!
Anyway, I had a pretty trouble free trip, arrived at Malmo Railway station on time after a comfortable ride from Copenhagen airport, and was relieved to find the Hotel was exactly where I was told it would be. The public areas looked nice and clean to me, the guy on reception was very polite and spoke perfect English (this is my experience commonly in Swedish hotels I must admit). My room was nicely furnished, very clean, comfortable, and it was nice to stay in a "business" hotel that was a bit different in design and decor. Very pleasant. Anyway, I met Ian and we went out for a beer and then something to eat. It was bloomin' cold for March (maybe not in Sweden) and I was struck at how quiet it was everywhere, this being an important town and all. Again, this seems to be pretty common in Sweden, I think mainly because alcohol is taxed highly and its expensive to go out on the beer. Anyway, we had a very pleasant meal and I tried some excellent local beer, and Ian tried to kid me that the next day was going to be easy! It wasn't, by the way, I spent an hour being grilled by all the top bods in turn for a total of about 8 hours! Got the job though!
Anyway, back to the hotel, I had an acceptable breakfast, lots of nice coffee as I remember. Its important to note I think that a lot of swedish people in business have fica when they get to work, which is kind of a "not long after you get to work" coffee break with breakfasty type stuff, or litlle bit later in the morning with cake!
Check out was simple and efficient, even though it was to be invoiced to the company, which can often be quite complicated in many places.
So, a nice clean pleasant functional hotel, in central malmo, very close to Railway station. Thats just what I needed and I certainly have no complaints!

“Wouldn't stay here again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2009

We chose this hotell because it was our only option (everything else was fully booked).
It was quite expensive and for that kind of money I would expect something else than 80's interior in the toilets and 28 degrees hot in the rooms. The whole place felt quite worn out and in need of some renovation (considering this is said to be a four star hotel).
The location is great though; smack in the middle of Malmö city centre and with a two minute walk to the trains that takes you over to Copenhagen.
Chose something else....
