Well, what can you expect from a very old train. Well we didn't expect much. We expected tight rooms, they were indeed. But it was cozy as well the staff was very nice. The shower was good, the bathrooms were clean, and overall, though the train was very old, it was quite clean.

However, the air was very humid, but what can you expect. Location was also good, just the the central rail station, and there isn't too much noise from the trains. So if your looking for cheap accommodation in Lund, which there isn't a lot of. The train should be fine.

We didn't actually end up staying here. After we spent so much time E-mailing back and forth to set up the Reservation and ask and answer questions, we were disappointed upon arrival that we couldn't stay. The Concept of Staying on a train...and for that price who could beat such an experience..our son is a huge train fan. We were going to stay there so he could enjoy that. The Staff was superb, but the website for this Train Hostel has limited photos, and when we arrived the Rooms/Cabins are in a real train car that has not been updated or altered and are REALLY SMALL. So tight that we couldn't have fit into that room (which is 3 Bunk Beds High) the floor space was not much larger than 3 Feet by 2 Feet if that (much the foot space of a bathroom stall). When we told them that we couldn't stay with our toddler since there was not enough room for his crib, the staff said that guests with small children or babies generally have the children sleep in a bunk with them. That was not going to happen. We were just disappointed after driving from Stockholm for 6 hours that we had to find a new place and our son saw the train and was really excited about it. Polite staff, but we were incredibly disappointed. Not to mention (not noted on the website), on the front desk they sell ear plugs, The Central Train Station is 200m away, not only can you hear the train whistles and sounds, but the Station PA System too announcing arrivals and departures. Luckily, even though it was already 6pm, we were able to book a fabulous hotel in Nearby Malmo Sweden by phone. Maybe in a few years when our son is older and bigger and possibly still interested in trains, and we return to Sweden, it would be a good place to stay.
