This is truly a hidden gem that provides both excellent guest services and a cozy setting. When I initially booked the room, it was with slight disappointment I found out that Scandic South was situated outside the city centre of Umea. However, for the very reasonable rate we received I've been extremely impressed with the service and room quality. They have a superb restaurant downstairs catering for every imaginable cuisine, and they even offer on request meals (courtesy of a nearby kitchen). The rooms are spacious, free wireless internet and premium TV channels and the hotel has a full-size swimming pool that all guests can use free of charge. The staff is really helpful and friendly, the only downside is that the concierge sometime is very busy, so dinner/theater reservations need to be done with some notice.

Overall superb hotel, will definitely return!
