Stayed here for one night with my husband. We were given an old tired room on the 4th floor, but we got it changed due to the faint whift of vomit from the bathroom. Plus the wonky bathtub looked unsafe sans rubber mat. Lamp on the writing table wasn't working too. The hotel provides free internet connection, but only after typing in an ID and password which can be valid for either 3 or 6 hours - tedious and could be done away with since it's free anyhow. Whatever, I had no luck with the internet because I couldn't log on no matter what! Frustrated I complained to the reception about this and the room. Luckily we were able to change to a more modern room on the third floor.

Breakfast was average with a mixture of cold and warm food. Melk wasn't cold at all, so that was a minus point. Plus the apple juice was totally diluted.

Overall if I were to return to Luleå again, I would choose another hotel because this one located in the middle of town is expensive if one drives. Their garage costs SEK160/night which I feel is a rip-off because guests are already paying to stay there! We chose to park alongside the street round the corner, which only costs SEK10/hour after 9am the next day. Luckily we were able to get a spot because it was full everywhere around the block.

I had a single on the fourth floor, facing the street. This is an allround good hotel, good value (for Sweden..) my complaints are minor, see below.

PLUSES:
+Pleasant rooms with blackout curtains, bathtub and comfortable double bed.
+No strange smells, irritating noises, loud guests/staff or cleanliness issues.
+Fast free wifi available. Ask for 24 hour passes, otherwise you get 3 hour passes.
+Helpful, unpretentious and friendly (by Swedish standards) reception staff.
+Good breakfast buffet, although not outstanding. Lactose free milk and kefir is available if you ask.

NEGATIVES (just minor stuff...):
-My access cards didn't work in the lift, then it stopped working in the door..,lots of hassle with this.
-Irritating to keep having to log on to internet all the time, Long and complciated logins/pws...
-Some coffee/coke stains on the wall in my room had been missed by cleaning staff. Nothing serious, but it should have been wiped off. A previous guest must have had an accident.
-Long wait for the lift, lift crowded....
-The breakfast buffet seemed a bit under staffed.

We went to Luleå on a mini-honeymoon for a weekend. Beautiful facade. Nice staff. Very nice room that was good maintained. For once the hotel room actually looked like the pictures on the website. The gem of the stay was the breakfast. I can for sure say that this was the best hotel breakfast i have ever had. I would absolutely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Luleå. I highly recommend it!

Stayed here for two nights and had a nice room at the back of the hotel overlooking the bay (Room 321). Good sized room by Swedish hotel standards, clean, and comfortable bed. All the usual comforts you would expect in a nice hotel, flat screen TV, fast Internet (wireless & free). Parking is available underground and is accessed by driving around to the back of the hotel and using the hotel key to open the garage. There is no hotel access from the garage so make sure you check in and unload before parking as you have to walk around the block! Really good location!
