This was our second accomodation during a summer trip to Norway and Sweden with my son, age 12 years.
The Scandic Ferrum is located in the middle of the city, some 500 meters from the train station, shops, supermarket close by. As central as it could be.
Arrived late in the afternoon by train from Narvik, soaking wet this day, so called a cab that shuttled us to the hotel.
A nice welcome from the girl at the desk,Ì´ve preordered a top floor room which was level 3 in the end with a view to the LKAB iron ore mine. Our target to visit in Kiruna. It´s an old building but well maintained and refurbished. Wooden floor in the room, the bathroom with a bathtub which is nice after a long day on the road.
Also the grill restaurant where we had an expensive, it´s Sweden after all, dinner was ok.
No noise during the night, we had a good sleep there. Breakfast buffet was really good, much more than we expected, typical Swedish style.
The lobby was a good place to rest after the LKAB visit till our train southbound leaves in the afternoon. Also no time to wait during checkout.
All in a recommendable place, the fare around 100.00 Euro´s. The only negative point is that you need to prepay you´re stay non refundable to catch this fare.
