“Great holiday! Apart from....”

Me, husband and my two daughters ( at the time 17 and 14) stayed here in June 2011. We booked the holiday through Cyprus paradise which gave us a brilliant deal! Our first problem (not of the hotels) was the horrid flight there. Here we're the problems:
1) The plane was completely unsafe and we had to change to a newer plane when we stopped off in Turkey
2) the stewardesses were rude and didn't speak a work of english
3) only one toilet was working for the whole plane
But when we got there at 00:30, they handled it perfectly! Giving us food at that time! I was so relieved not to be starving hungry. The bungalow was simple but still cosy, the only thing was hotel grounds were quite spacious so took a while to get around but it's worth it! It was fine for the first 2 days; brilliant food, amazing service and great for a good relax! I couldn't fault it!

Then our daughters were mildly harassed by a turkish man who decided to ring there villa late at night , but they dealt with the situation amazingly! Moving us out of the not so secure bungalow to a very secure professional hotel room and the holiday was brilliant after that!

I would 100% recommend it as it has brilliant day trips, good food and overall goodness! But not much entertainment so more of a relax holiday! Thank you for letting us stay for the week!

“Lovely!”

Spent Christmas week here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food was good, rooms were spacious and clean and staff were very polite and hard working. Would like to go back in summer when outdoor facilities are open too. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

“Super Christmas at Acapulco”

Totally agree with Rocky's report, spent a lovely week at Acapulco Christmas 2011.Lovely hotel, great beach, pool, food was superb and plenty of choice. Nice spa, pool, sauna etc.The staff were very helpfull and friendly. Lovely large well equiped rooms. Although renovations are in progress in some areas, did not affect the holiday at all.Although on the edge of Kyrenia, dolmus and shuttle bus services were reliable and cheap. Superb mountain and penninsula scenery within minutes in our very resonable hire car. A superb location as a base to explore Northern Cyprus. The holiday was superb value for money, and cannot really fault the hotel.. Thanks to everyone at Acapulco for a great holiday, especially denise for friendly help and advice throughout our stay

Room Tip: Pine court is the newer more luxurious block

“HAPPY NEW YEAR AT THE ACAPULCO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We stayed at the Acapulco in the week starting 31st.December 2011.
Excellent hotel - beautifully situated, great food,5star room, friendly helpful staff - who could ask for more?
All of the hotel facilities were made available to us free of charge - sauna, steam room, etc.
From the Reception staff to our room cleaner nothing was too much trouble and they all ensured that our stay was pleasurable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we would certainly return.
With regard to some criticisms regarding drink prices, we found them to be about U.K.bar prices and not expensive for a hotel of this class.
One small gripe, though. In a country where oranges are hanging off the trees why were we offered a truly awful "fruit" juice at breakfast?

Room Tip: Ask for a room in Pine Court.

“4star at 2star price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We stayed here over the Xmas week at a v good deal at half board!
First the good points -
Lovely room with view of sea. Always cleaned although could be updated as our bath had a crack. Hairdryer broke but was fixed quickly.
Lovely beach lots of room and as it was cold and we weren't fighting for space although new years eve turned into nightmare with hundreds turning up for celebrations although not unexpected.
Food - breakfast was good and best meal with lots of variety for all. Charging for fresh orange I thought was a bit much. Too few working coffee machines and tiny cups so you had to keep queueing to top up.
I had a Turkish bath at a discount -highly recommended lovely staff and fab treatment.
Now the BAD -
Drinks prices ok BUT it is wrong to charge for water when you can't drink it from the tap. Charging 5TL for a bottle is outrageous when it costs 4 times less outside.
Staff were generally ok but at dinner very hit and miss. Had to wait ages for drinks order to be taken.
Food was very repetitive and by day 4 was getting bored with very little change in menu for dinner. Quality was good for what was there.
We were "treated" to 3 fancy dinners. Two for Xmas/boxing day and n year eve. Great ideas but due to high numbers difficult to manage.
New years eve was a fiasco it was our last nite and many had forged friendships but a seating plan was enforced and we ended up with strangers! We were shoved in the corner and although we were warned did not expect the low level of service..food was so slow and we often got a few plates but others on the table had to wait ages! Food was exactly the same meal we had on Xmas day. If I had to pay for that I would hv been v disappointed.

Overall a good holiday lovely island lots to do and see. Would return but not to this hotel or at this busy time of year!
