My room was nice but small, the breakfast and restaurant were really nice, good Vietnamese food and fantastic freshly squeezed OJ in the mornings at extra cost but so worth it.

Staff could have been a little more helpful and I am not a demanding person.

Close to the center of things and nice to not be in a big hotel chain for a change. bathroom was not great and the place was a little on the noisy side.

What does "average" mean? If you think it means that it meets the bare threshold to offer a nice place to stay, but without going the extra mile, then the Alexandra meets that definition.

The Alexandra isn't a bad place, not at all. And it's location is superb, being right in the heart of downtown Copenhagen.

But everything else about the place speaks "average" to me. Service was good, but not great. Amenities were good, but not great. The rooms were your of your typical European 2 to 3 star variety (small rooms, and even small bathrooms).

Don't get me wrong. There's not a bad thing about this place. It's adequate for those of us simply looking for a place to lay our heads at night in a very convenient location. But if your looking for pampering, preening, and other similar bells and whistles, then you may want to look elsewhere.

Location: Very close to the city center, very convenient
Check in & welcome: Warm, friendly and fast
Room: Very small room, not enough space for suitcase, noisy, because room was towards the street and the walls are very thin, mattress could be better, free Wifi, bathroom was very small and terribly old fashioned (like 100 years ago)
Hotel furniture: Great Danish design chairs and furniture all over the place!
Breakfast: Nice, served in the Asian restaurant

We stayed at the hotel as part of a travel package with SAS, and so did many more scandinavians.... The location is very central, so you walk to Strøget in 5 min. However, just in front of the hotel lies a very busy road which you can hear very well in most rooms. And in an attempt to be ecological, the hotel has no air-con, so you need tonhave the windows open.

Apart from the noise we slept ok.

The lobby looks ok, the rooms are old and some have carpets. There is no mini bar, and only some of the bathrooms are redone. The hairdryer is awful (but they have normal ones in the reception). The staff was helpful and friendly,

There are bikes to rent, and I think the breakfast was ok, however, we decided to stay only to sleep at the hotel, and wandered to Strædet to have breakfast. If tou plan to spend some time at the hotel, I would choose differently.
