I stayed at this hotel for two nights in December 2011 while in town for a meeting. After looking it up, I was pleased to find that it is only about 1km from the central station, an easy walk. Upon arrival, you must ring a doorbell to be let in - this was a slight minus as I have big-city instincts and felt a bit uncomfortable waiting in a dark alley to enter the hotel. But, of course, the area is completely safe and it was really no trouble.
Once inside I was very pleasantly surprised by the standard and decor. My room, a single, included a full-size four-poster bed, desk and chair, tv, and simple bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. The rooms are decorated in the same style as the rest of the hotel-a mix of antique-y and "funky." The property is clearly many years old, but has been well-maintained and is clean and cozy, and well-heated. In the bathroom is a selection of the hotel's own organic bath products.
The breakfast was good, but not spectacular, and a bit pricey-I would recommend visiting one of the many nearby cafes and restaurants instead if you're not in a hurry. But the food is tasty, healthy and plentiful.
A final plus - one staff member has an adorable French bulldog named Gimli who came to say hello at the front desk!
