i won't recommend anyone a stay in hotel fox. it's completeley run down and dirt is all over. it has nothing to do with a hip design hotel at all. it's rather a very expensive bad, smelly hostel with garbage lying all over. bad idea to stay there. very bad idea...

our room 212 in hotel Fox was terribly light in the morning and when, after the firs night, we complained about this with the owner he said it was not his problem, that he couldn't turn off the sun (!!!) and that he did not care at all, we could check out if we wanted but he wasn't going to change our room without an extra paiment. a really unpolite guy.
not enough, the room was unconfortable and, i must say, not very clean. the price is definitely too high for a service at the level of a youth hostel.
also, there's not even a computer to use in the reception...

The Hotel Fox is a great, fun little hotel for your inner 27-year-old international hepster. If you don't think Moby's latest dance groove is great breakfast music, this hotel ain't for you. In the evening the lobby plays jungle house. Excellent.

We stayed 2 nights in August in the "Chance" suite, which was decorated by 2 French graphic designers. The emerald green room with silver bio-morphic figures looked rather like an alien garden on a luxury spaceliner to Mars. Considering we're discussing Copenhagen, the rooms are fair sized - they're good by New York standards. The bed was great, with a comfy down duvet and a wonderful tile Euro bathroom with an amusing orange shower. Very clean and comfy.

The breakfast is fantastic - French press coffee served in stylish Eva Solo coffeepots, great Danish yogurt with red fruit jam, and nice croissant. Yeah the carpet in the hall's a tad worn, but if you're noticing that, you must have skipped your afternoon cocktail. The amazing giant "swan-feather" chandelier in the lobby more than compensates. My boyfriend & I loved it. We had to check out at 5am, and the staff made us espresso to take with us. Wonderful.

We stayed at the Fox hotel for 2 nights.
The location is great, about 10 minutes walk from the city centre and the same to Tivoli Gardens (really beautiful amusement park, highly recommended!)
The best feature of this hotel is that the rooms have all been decorated by a different artist, you can get a pretty good idea from the website what to expect. It was fun waking up in the middle of the alps every morning, we had the 'Heidi' room. The rest of the hotel is decked out in funky carpeting and art too.
The room was a reasonable size. The bed was good, the bathroom clean, it had a good shower. The free toiletries aren't super, but this isn't a spa hotel.
The breakfast was good with a selection of sandwiches, muesli, yoghurt, juice& smoothies and fresh tea& coffee. The design couches in the breakfast area are a little akward to sit on, though.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and offered tips about the city.
We didn't visit the sushi-restaurant, but it looked very popular.
I've read some of the other reviews about this hotel, and it does seem a little bit rundown but I think that's because the building had not been built specifically to house this hotel. So in the decorating you have to work around things, so the interior doesn't look super clean-cut or plush. I didn't think this was bothersome, however, and I didn't feel like it was filthy or grimy.
So in a nutshell: visit this hotel for the artistic experience!
