“Great hotel, very friendly staff and so cosy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed my three night stay at Hotel Kong Arthur. While not in the centre of the city, I much preferred the hotel's location as it was quiet and in close proximity to the metro for my trip back to the airport. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was small and it was hard to actually find a place for my suitcase but the ambience, cosiness, cleanliness and beautifully decorated room (just like in the pictures on the website) made it an extremely pleasant stay. Great bar and large lounge area for relaxing. Would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Book a superior or suite if you want a larger room

“very nice place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

I stayed in Kong Arthur Hotel for 4 nights in January 2012. Although the rooms are not too big, I can fully recommend the hotel. The rooms were very clean and nicly decorated. I really liked the mix between old and new furniture. The staff was extremly friendly and helpful and helped us to find a bar we searched for 2 days!
you get one free wi-fi access per room which works in the whole hotel area.
We booked the room without breakfast, but took it twice nevertheless. The buffet breakfast was very nice in a very relaxing wintergarden!
The hotel is located on the border of the city center. It 's a 10 min walk to the center or to the next train station (Nørrebro). If arrive at CPN airport leave the train at this station!

“I would really like to be nice about this hotel, but...”

Stayed at this hotel on business from 09-11 Jan 2012. Location was fine and room serviceable if on the small side (no proper hanging space for clothes, which is a problem when travelling on business and quilt too small for the bed).

On leaving my room in the morning, I left the windows open and the heating off as I found the room far too hot. I also left the "do not disturb" sign on the door. As a frequent traveller, one of my main gripes about hotels is that the cleaning staff always move my things - and often remove the pillow I travel with as it is not hotel issue. As a result, I now tend to leave the do not disturb sign on when on short trips. On returning to the hotel, the sign was gone, every item of mine within the room had been moved (including removing my toiletries from the shower area), the windows were closed and the heating back on full blast! Why can't hotels respect guest privacy and preferences?! Would certainly not recommend and will be looking for an alternative next time I come to Copenhagen.

“Comfortable stay”

Well situated only a few minutes walk from the subway which we took from the airport. Take care because Walking on cobblestones with luggage to get to the hotel can be a challenge. We booked a junior suite which was quite small however came with a jet tub. All in all it was a good stay and I would reccomend staying here.

“A Gem in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

The reveiws that i read re this hotel before we went were a little mixed and the hotel website we found a little unuser friendly. So i didnt have great expectations, but was very very pleasantly surprised, We stayed for 4 nights at the end of November. There are various room options and we selected the 2nd one up the ladder, as one review we read said that the rooms were small (as they can be in city centre hotels). The hotel was easy to find and very conveniently located, in a quiet street off the main road that runs along the canal and a short walk (10 min max) into the centre of copenhagen and Norreport train and bus station (from which you can get easily to the airport). We were welcomed warmly and our room was, although not massive (and not tiny), very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was everything that you would need in the room and bathroom. The room did get very warm and in already cold weather we turned the heating off so it might well be uncomfortably hot in the warmer summer months. However, we opened the window and didnt experience excessive traffic noise or anything because the hotel is a set back from the main road. Whilst we didnt eat in the hotel, i have no doubt that the food would have been lovely. We had a look at the spa and gym facilities which looked great. We would have used the gym, but handnt actually realised that there was one as it wasnt detailed on the website.
We did have a drink in the main bar area, which was very comfy and with Christmas just round the corner was decorated beautifully. The drinks were expensive, but they were everywhere in Copenhagen and the hotel prices were on par with the rest of the city. The service at all times was helpful and friendly.
We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was perfect and Copenhagen is really one of the nicest ( even if a touch expensive) cities that we have had the pleasure of visiting. Wouldnt hesitstate in going back again to either the city or hotel.
TIP- if you are able bodied and the weather is dry then dont waste your money on travel cards..... we bought them, but only used it for a trip to Christiana (which we could have walked) and the train back to the airport. Its not a huge city and if you dont mind a bit of exercise then on foot is as easy as anything
