Gulsmeden is the sort of hotel that makes you feel good: beautifull decor, laidback vibe, ecological food and a gorgious spa. I loved it but my husband is a little more down to earth and remarked on the creaky bed and door, the internet being not reliable and the staff being jokingly but not practical in helping us find parking (we got two tickets!). These are basics the hotel should get sorted out before concentrating on the charm.
Don't be scared by the area. Granted, the red light district is close bur so are cool cafes and art galleries. I never felt bad at ease.
And do pay the spa supplement if you're staying several days. It's a wonderfull little haven filled with little extras such as fragrant creames and fresh fruit.
It may not be your best buy around town but it has it's pro's...
