The location of the hotel couldn't be better- next to Nyhavn and a few minutes walk from Strøget, the Royal Palace and the gardens in the north. Great for wandering around the city and spending the evening in one of the excellent restaurants in this charming area. The lobby was cosy, the staff friendly and helpful and the Irish Coffee from the front desk bar very enjoyable. Useful to have the wifi in the lobby. They also stamped and sent my postcards at no exta charge.
The room was very average for a 'Superior double' but I suspect this is more symptomatic of Copenhagen than anything else. The size was ok with the superior room giving a very small extra windowed area, large enough for a chair. 'Partial view' means that if you lean out of the window you can see the water through a gap in the buildings. The room wasn't dirty but I would say it wasn't meticulously clean. A few dusty areas and a slightly grubby bath and sink surround. The heated bathroom floor is nice though, as is the ability to have an actual bath as well as a shower. Mattresses a little soft but good size.
My only big disappointment was breakfast. I don't like to be too fussy but I have to say that I had the worst scrambled eggs here that I have ever tried. Other than that it was fairly basic- bread, jam, yoghurt, cereals and cold meats. Cutlery wasnt very clean and the bowls were always wet. It's a shame as it brings the place down.
Overall, the room was adequate but not what I would expect from a superior room, even comparing to London and Rome prices. But no big complaints, it served a purpose for sleeping after a long day and was extremely quiet. Due to the excellent location and pleasant lobby and staff, I had an enjoyable stay. As for Copenhagen itself, I can only say that it's wonderful so perhaps the location of the hotel is the most important aspect anyway.
